I al tempted to agree but there are also some players who are off limits, and it would be daft to even thrown our hat in the ring, in my opinion.

No team is as yet to make a signing,l et alone a marquee one, but there is a middle group of players, like Baleba, Wharton to name but 2 who moght not quite fit what the biggest 4 or 5 clubs, and we have to try and make a statement.

If not, what changes???

No team is yet to make a signing but I'd say finishing 17th back to back seasons makes our needs greater than most in this league.

Yes its early, yes the world cup affects things somewhat but I expect to see some of our big business done in time for RDZ's pre season.

If it's not that will speak remarkable volumes imo.

Dude, he was our best player last season.
He's probably been blocked from a world cup spot by Ronaldo at the age of about 64.
No one is getting him, or anyone even close to him for £10-£12m.

Because we haven't signed them.
We've no doubt done what we always do, and figured we could save a few quid on wages after being told over a teams call "yeah yeah I'll sign"

"New regime" my arse.
Would it not just be that their current contracts run until 30th June, so we can't officially sign them until then?

No problem with Davies staying on, doubles as a reliable 5th choice CB and a third choice LB whilst having an excellent attitude and not costing us much. Played better at LB than Spence did this season.

Hopefully he transitions into coaching with us, we need some Spurs guys around the club.

Italian football is built on leaning on experienced players. That's the football culture that De Zerbi was raised in.

He leaned on youth at Brighton because he was a small cog in a big machine there. Here he is the saviour that can make demands. He's going to want some veterans for our young core of players to lean on.
…and look at the state of Serie A and the Italian National team now.

Getting rings run around them continuously by anyone with a shred of dynamism.

We have a talent issue. Anyone who watches us play objectively should see that. No amount of importing leadership, experience being a good lad in the dressing room etc. fixes the lack of passing ability and skill in the squad.

Or it could be that the window isn’t open yet and their contracts run until the end of June? Just saying.

I'm not saying that you're wrong. I'm just giving some context as to why RDZ may want some veterans.
It could also be that we are doing this to get a fee off of Ben.

Kang would be a very "Spurs" signing - not really wanted by his current club, decent age, wouldn't be insane money or wages, and marketing potential back in South Korea given Son is now in the USA...
