So we thought we could get away with a cheap deal, but the other club is having none of it.

Yeah I’m sure it was definitely almost certainly Blackburn that moved the goalposts and reneged - absolutely definitely something that Levy wouldnt tryInteresting update on Ash Phillips:
Blackburn name their price for Phillips amid Tottenham talks
Despite being down in London for a medical last week, it appears that a move to take Blackburn's teenage centre-back Ash Phillips to Tottenham Hotspur is not as close as first though.
Rovers are disputing technicalities in the release clause that is in the defender's contract and as reported by Alan Nixon this past weekend, Blackburn want £5 million up-front and a further £4.5 million in add-ons for the 18-year-old.
This has been backed up by The Athletic, who claim that Rovers have moved the goalposts on their asking price after initially agreeing a £3 million fee with £2 million in add-ons.

AFAIK just as were about to close the deal because BRFC desperately needed the dough Venky's got a cash injection and got ahem..cocky and chickened out of the deal.As bad as we think we have it with ENIC/Levy I couldn’t imagine an ownership group like the Venky’s. What a shambles they are.
Who mentioned payroll. Obv far more beneficial for a journo to have Spurs onside than Blackburn, I have no doubt our scumbags have leaked thisYup..... That'll be it.... That's 2 more sets of journos that Levy has on the payroll.![]()

This will drag on for a while yet, if we can't agree a deal this cheap, what chance on the first choice CB.
Yeah, I'm sure that Levy told Blackburn that £3m was unacceptable and he wants to pay £4.5m plus another £5m add one.Yeah I’m sure it was definitely almost certainly Blackburn that moved the goalposts and reneged - absolutely definitely something that Levy wouldnt try
Whilst the rhetoric is juvenile and moronic, there are a number of reasons fans have to be unhappy right now:-
Levy will happily miss out on a player that everyone he employs is agreed will fill the biggest priority in the squad. It is a shambles but, if we do lose the first 2/3 games, because we are not set up right.
It will all be worth it, if levy can drag this out and save a couple of quid.
Money first, team second.
Wasn't he injured?
Bloody tiresome isn't it?No it’s not good, I don’t want to read pages of you lot arguing with each other![]()

- We just finished 8th and missed out on Europe. This is well below our stature and financial status as a club and I think we all agree is unacceptable for us.
- After a really fruitful period, we’ve only attained top 4 once in the last 4 years and have finished out of the top 6 twice
- We haven’t had a manager for a full season since 18/19, a sign of the successive poor managerial choices we’ve made since Poch left.
- Our recent recruitment record has been awful
- We’ve won 2 trophies this century. I appreciate it’s gotten harder with the influx of foreign money, but that’s not good enough for Tottenham
- Ticket prices for fans are extortionate and I read the highest in the country. That doesn’t reflect what we see on the pitch
- After such a disappointing season last year, our transfer activity (in and out) has been pretty uninspiring thus far (I appreciate there are many weeks left in the window).
- One of our greatest ever players wants to leave because the club hasn’t been able to fulfil his ambition.
- Our club has appeared to lack any real strategy for success since Poch left.
Most of the failures noted sit under the remit of Levy, and whilst some of the comments made about him are utterly cringey, so is the way you,Airfixx and
Get in! seek to dismiss every single negative, or critique to a minute level to undermine them at least.
I’ve never previously been ENIC or Levy out, and I'm still broadly comfortable with the way we run our club financially.
But surely we can all agree that Levy needs to be completely removed from all football-related decision making now? I know the new structure promotes this, but the fact everyone on the footballing side still reports to him is a concern for me.
I no longer have faith in him to make the footballing decisions needed to push our club in the right direction.
I don’t think you understand the purpose of a contract or a release clause. So we thought we could get away with a cheap deal, but the other club is having none of it.

That’s a shame. I hear they’re missing the tenor in their barbershop quartet. If I was and I could get a ticket to Brentford away, I'd be joining in with the Levy out songs.

You'd think that they'd bring up the mass sales of players to Saudi as part of the debate if they were truly serious about right and wrong.I see what you mean but the point they were discussing " Should Clubs in general deal with Russian clubs" not about Dav or any other player in specific player situation... (i only saw that short clip posted, if you talking about what they spoke about after then that diff maybe....?)
This is actually a fantastic post coming from someone we would all agree occupies the middle ground on the ownership debate.Whilst the rhetoric is juvenile and moronic, there are a number of reasons fans have to be unhappy right now:-
