Dier hasn’t even been a part of the match day squads, let alone starting. Ange is clearly signaling to him he won’t play and still Dier doesn’t want to move?

This is in a season where he needs to be playing if he wants any chance of making the Euro squad and before he could get a big contract as a free transfer. Sure you could say he wants to say so he can get his pick of clubs like Kane potentially could have, but he’s not going to be playing, which certainly lowers the type of contracts he will be offered.

That’s a weird one.

Should have got him before VDV tbh. He's no idiot, knows he'll ride the bench for us majority of this season barring injury to one of VDV, Romero or Udogie, already 25, probably sees himself going to Monaco to start regularly and play his way to a big move back to England in a starting role.

Concerned now, We cannot let Sanchez go to Forest unless we have a replacement lined up, under no circumstances do I want Tanganga or Dier 1 injury away from the first XI, would be a fucking nightmare.

If Sanchez goes realistically we need two incoming CBs. We need our 3rd and 4th CBs to be fast and capable of playing a high line.

Dier was an ok player for us at the start and has give his best but he clearly isn’t physical enough anymore, he seems slow and passive these days.

This is a chance to play some football again for Fulham for a season then as a free agent he can play in Portugal or maybe the U.S or Australia as he adapts to a lesser level.

If he is not careful he could easily not be in the squad then next year only get Championship offers. He needs to view the situation realistically and also as an opportunity and not let ego run the show. There is nothing wrong in accepting your own decline, happens to everyone in every field at some point just in sport it happens very early.

Dier has 1 season left, I get he maybe wants to be a free agent but why not a loan for the last 1 year. If he sits on the bench for the season his worth will go down even as a free agent.
I agree.

I think he already has an idea of a club he wants to go to.
That club probably don't have the money even for a loan fee which I'm sure levy would demand.

Biggest problem for him now is that he needs game time to be in the England squad for euros.

He should be looking for a club that will play him. Even if it's abroad, he's probably one of the few players that can fit in abroad having grown up abroad. Perhaps Sporting want him back.

He'd do worse than going to Everton having been there before and family links. He's competing against fellow England CBs in Michael Keane and Tarkowski. Additionally got Dele there as a mate.

I can’t see that happening, Davies as 4th choice is adequate. Not perfect but he is mobile enough to play the role. I think we will sign just one CB and two of Sanchez/Dier/Tanganga will be sold.

There just aren’t enough games this season to keep 4 senior CBs happy.

...it's not easy to get players in that are happy with a bit part.

any new signing now will be just that. hard sell, even if we are looking to shift centre backs out. it's a long old season and there's nothing stopping us from resuming our centre back birth come snowfall
Jesus mate, I think we're just pushing to buy one... not actually have one! :dier: :ange-lips:

What's wrong with "monitoring"???

Seems to be a massive difference on how our deadwood view themselves vs how the rest of the footballing world views them.

The lack of self awareness, in hindsight, is another obvious reason for why we've been so poor in prior seasons.

Dier is a joke. How could you be sat on the reserves not even making the bench for games and think “yeah I’d like to stay and see out the contract”

Horrific mentality. He’s been a great club servant but he could easily go play every week for another club, to refuse a move like this is pathetic and indicative of just how much of an issue this dressing room has been and still is.

Soft spoilt melt who is directly responsible for us never winning anything.

The fact that he's willing to sit on his contract suggests that he doesn't really care about playing for England.

If he had a good season at Fulham they'd probably seek to make his deal permanent.

Poste saying you don't need 50-100 million to find great players, and talking about Mitoma as an example, so I'm disappointed that our world-wide search for talent has ended on Brennan Johnson.

Surely there are better options out there? And if not (this late in the window), maybe it's better to keep our powder dry. Give Gil the 2nd RW spot.
I am not saying that I am happy about Johnson but there are not many Mitoma's around - and certainly not for £3m. If there was one he would have been picked up very fast (Brighton sure did)!
Mitoma actually played in his University team until he was 22 (in 2019), just 2 years before he joined Brighton; so he's a bit of a freak example even.

Think we need to push the boat out for Pepe. Been looking at his game online and his dribbling and one on one take ons are ridiculous. Think he could be a game changer with our system. Happy to chuck Son up top if Richy doesn’t find his scoring boots. Better than splashing a load of cash on someone unproven. Toney in Jan

If anything, it just shows why we stagnated for so long.

We had the likes of Dier, Lloris and the like just happy to coast along in this team. Knowing they were getting paid handsomely. The fact Lloris also hasn't found a club is quite frankly a joke. This is a France World Cup winning goalkeeper, yet he can't find a single club in one of the top 5 leagues?

Thank fuck we're no longer pandering to these guys and they're no longer getting minutes and the majority of the players who have that stink of failure are starting to be fucked off.
