so vdv and madders top quality signings

2 deadwood out 1 on a loan to obligation which is tanganga

solomon who may be 3rd choice in both positions on a free

vicario we need to see more off to judge

as for brennan johnson lets hope he is worth the 47.5 mill price tag otherwise we might have a richie situation come next year

one injury to vdv or romero and we are fucked, do bear in mind biss and sarr have afcon duty in jan and we will have wankberg back in the starting eleven

it is the bare fucking minimum and levy will smoke his cigar because he knows he gets a pass for a long while, yippee

oooooo 4/10 by the way if you care

Son, Richarlison, Kulusevski, Solomon, Johnson.

Any of those you fancy breaking double figures this season?

It really feels like Son is our only real hop and that's only if he somehow manages to regain some form.

The other four feel like they'll be single figures for goals and assists.

Johnson scored 8 with Forest, he can definitely score 10+ if he becomes a starter.

See you february when your calling for Anges head
Brilliant logic given we have another window in January to tweak the squad again. Bookmarked this one.
Tanguy should have been moved on
Yup, he’s going to give up £10m a year so Danny Boy can get some money back. I hear they have that kind of relationship.
As should have Dier, Sanchez and others
Were you proposing to drug them, handcuff them and drag them to the airport or do you have photos of the Porto chairman in congress with a donkey and plan to blackmail him to match Dier’s absurd salary?

In terms of how good was the window, it’s not just the signings we also need to factor in the new manager and formation. Had we stuck with Conte ball then I would be having a meltdown but Ange’s approach and playing both existing and new players in their correct positions as had such a positive affect on our performances, results, mentality and outlook.

Window Benefits:

Vicario - a couple of decent games and looks like be getting over his early jitters

Emerson and Porro - both competent at RB, Porro has surprised me but he’s learning his new role very fast

Udogie - what a find, he has a very bright future

VD-Ven - looks like he’ll be a beast at the back

Romero - now playing is his natural position

Sanchez - yes he’s hit and miss but he’s been pretty decent defensively when called upon this season

Phillips - signed a very promising youngster

Bissouma - great to see him playing in his natural position. He’s been immense so far

Sarr - another who’s stepped and has a promising future

Bentancur - rumoured to be back very soon

Maddison - an absolute steal at £40m

Kulusevski - showing some signs of improvement and we’ve his deal permanent

Veliz - another promising signing

Johnson - will add pace and can hopefully improve under Ange

Add Ange and our new formation and approach and the future looks promising.

Now I agree making huge changes against Fulham was a recipe for disaster but some of the those players have performed when played with better players eg Hojbjerg and Skipp. I never want to see them as a duo again but they still add something when played alongside our existing first team players.

A better window would have been bringing in another very good centre back, 1 in 1 out in central midfield and may be a striker.

lloris, dier, ndombele refusing to leave and earn their place at another club shows the mentality of this squad for the last few years.
Don’t think Ange is exactly crying into his weetabix about dispersal of the “leadership council”.

Obviously we made some truly shocking signings in terms of personality like Ndombele (and others) but it’s been massively disappointing how the lads who should have been culture setters at the club like Dier and Lloris basically packed it in post UCL final defeat. Kane continued to perform but he became increasingly more aloof after that too.

It’s been a breath of fresh air to see what Maddison, Romero, Son, Bissouma and a few others have been doing to display leadership so far. Feels a lot less cliquey in the squad so far this year too.

At least Dier and Sanchez will be gone next July. That’s something.
sarcastic sarcasm GIF

also whats the point of retaining lloris tanguy and dier

those 3 contracts need ripping up then ill raise it to a 5

take the hit i dont want tanguy getting fatter then he should for another year
Agree, i dont think we can keep Lloris and Dier around. Its a new broom and i dont think having 2 cant be arsed members of the last 'leadership group' hanging around will be helpful. They just need to bite the bullett on Ndombele, its a hit but no point keeping him and having this charade in January and next summer. I'd probably give it a couple of weeks to try and get them to Saudi or Turkey but if not pay them off.
