Again People are hailing Levys Masterclass.

How soon we forget.

Hire Mourinho, give him Sanchez, Rodon and Dier as CBs. He asked for Kim Min-Jae at 15 million maximum, Levy said No. Fans, " Jose doesn't work with Youth, he needs alot of money". His MF is reliant on Ndombele, Winks, Lo Celso, PEH and Moura. We have a Golden Boot winner and highest assist striker pairing in the history of the EPL. But we play defensive football so he Gets fired before a cup final.

Hired Nuno as last resort, dismal flop.

Hires Conte, Conté says I need Bastoni, Bremer, a few RWB and LWB options....etc. Has to live with Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Sess, Doherty, Emerson 1.0. Managers to get Emerson playing good football despite us Supporters throwing tantrums. Openly states he didn't want Spence. Has to have a midfielder protecting his Defenders at all times, so Skipp and PEH are forced to play in order to be more defensive. Still has the same midfield with the exception of Bentancur and Kulusevski. We in the top 5 highest scoring teams in the EPL. Gets us to top 4 despite these players. Supporters Verdict... Conté Plays Defensive Football that will never win anything.

Ange gets hired. We have VdV and Romero as CB pairing, Udogie as LB and Porro as RB. Now we can attack using Maddison as 10 and Sarr 8 they both are high up but aren't needed to come back to defend as much because of a Ball playing defence. Ange gets lauded and Levy is a genius.
As all our business is more or less done I thought I would provide a list of players bought by our previous managers.
Lloris is technically still a Spurs player and he is the last of the AVB buys.

This is a very important point that has not been discussed AT ALL on this forum in the last 24 hours.
While I'm relieved Sanchez has moved on, I'm concerned about the timing and our lack of depth at the center back position. His departure leaves us dangerously thin at CB. Even though he hadn't been at his best lately, his exit now, just before the new campaign begins, creates a worrisome hole in our defence that needs filling. I hope the club can move swiftly to reinforce the center back position and provide reinforcements given Sanchez's untimely exit has left us quite short-handed.

PEH to fill in?

We are never (under the current regime) going to spend £100M on one player.
We have in Levy , someone who just loves to put his fingers in every pie and try to get a "bargain".
This could actually work in our favour , to an extent, insomuch that if we had a decent scouting network , not just looking at the big clubs big signings (ie being lazy) that went searching for the next deli, sherringham, kane etc from the lower leagues and/or properly developing our academy players, we wouldn't need to pay £100M, we would actually be able to charge that to other clubs.
We have managed to do it in the past in a limited way, but we should be able to do more of this type of business.
I'm not advocating that we are a selling club, but if every couple of years we can bang out a £100M player to someone else , while having a perfectly adequate replacement waiting in the wings , wouldnt it be soooo much better?

Levy is good in the rebuild stage. Has the right instincts about needing outside football expertise and his financial shrewdness is a net benefit. Pair him with some DOF expertise and an unheralded, jolly, hungry manager, as with Jol, Redknapp, Poch and likely now Ange and we have built teams that are better than the outlay. It's not worked with any of Santini, Ramkos, AVB, Mourinho and Conte for more than a short time.

We've made all sorts of club driven shrewd deals for a project manager recently - Phillips' release fee, Solomon for nothing, getting in on Sarr and Udogie early, Vicario, better investment in the youth team, and targeted well on balance with the funds from the big sale. Ange is going to suprise this season and next off the back of that.

What tends to happen, however, is that Levy trades managers influence in place of investment to close gaps further. But this influence is pretty useless as there is not enough money to spend to make the next level. In turn, the structure becomes sclerotic and the manager doesn't feel safe enough to do what we've done with Sanchez. After having his fingers burnt with N'Dombele, I can't see this dynamic changing. That said, our finances are getting bigger and bigger and the ceiling might be higher for Ange than even Poch.

What a stinky list

Sanchez is gone, and as much as I am glad he has finally left....why now, and what cbs are we left with now ?? Its worrying to say the least, we are very short in that area now
Opportunity knocked.
Maybe we got some useful money in and wages off the books that would be nil next summer.
As long as we never see Dier again, i can live with it. I'd wing it with almost anyone at CB over that fraud. Stick a 5ft 5" hobbit in there for all i care. As long as he sticks a boot in

The most shocking thing for me here, something that's just knocked me clean off my chair - TND has 91 appearances for us.

46 of them in one season.

We might not even get 46 games this season and he managed that on his own.

Appreciate many of those may be 5 minute cameo's but 91 games!

To put that in perspective GLC has 84 and is supposed to be better, Sessegnon, signed in the same window is at 56. Skipp 83.

Just read that EUFA is concerned that both the Turkish and Saudi transfer windows close later that others making it possible for them to buy players.A committee has been set up to find a way to solve the problem. Jesus wept are they thick. Make it that when the transfer window ends that no European club can sign players or sell them.

I'm up for giving youth a chance, whilst I would have liked us to sign a more established CB, few things give me more joy (in football) than seeing someone come through the academy, if there are always people in the way they will never get a chance.

You have to be brave in this game, youth with the right mentoring can play with a freedom and vibrancy beyond their years. Exciting times and very pleased for these two lads.

And Sanchez, i'm glad he is gone, he was an expensive experiment, never really looked like a footballer to me, his control and coordination never seemed to click. TBF to him, he went through some sucking times and mismanagement and two his credit, never moaned, kept his head down, trained hard and always had a smile on his face. He was clearly popular with the squad so I wish him the best of luck. Shame a section of fans booed him, it should have been aimed at the board.

Different countries seasons kick off and end at different times too.
I do believe all Uefa governed countries should kick off and end within a week of eachother and the window should be identical.

And yes it would probably be safe to set it so that clubs can't sell to leagues outside Uefa control after their window closes

Last I checked Turkey is in Europe and Galatasaray play in CL. Which makes it unfair they can still get players and their rivals in CL group cannot. Just imagine if they got an injury after the main EU deadline and befire their own? They could still a player in befire CL group ganes start. A whereas their rivals cannot. It’s seems stupid and unfair. You sometimes wonder Hdf these people that run the game get into these positions and how they think?
