Some really over the top remarks. Title challengers? We have not won the title since 1961 and as has been stated other top clubs , Woolwich, Liverpool and even MC took longer than 1 year with a new Manager to become title challengers.
Blaming everything on Levy is ridiculous. There is no evidence he refused to buy a player that Ange and the Scouting team wanted. We did not have space in the Europa squad and that is because our academy has not produced players that were starters. Kane has gone and now Skipp. The transfer team includes others including Ange and Lange and Scouts. They must share the blame for any shortfalls. We do not want injury prone players that some still believe we should have bought.
Having said that I agree that we are short at LCB and LWB. We have improved Up front and added depth and should see improvements on last season. I am still sceptical about Ange’s tactics which I consider a bigger risk than the players.
In 25 years as chairman we’ve won 1 league cup

What’s the constant? I’m not gonna get into this and bore everyone again but a lot of our fans need a reality check

There's no hiding from it. That is absolutely shocking. Embarrassing level of investment in the football team considering our wealth and FFP position.

So the football club can find the means and the desire to invest in a new 30 storey hotel.....But can't adequately fund a competitive football team

The whole thing is a fucking sham, guys. We're being taken for mugs.....
No wonder gooners "Want Levy to Stay "

Like I said, I'm not going to be dishonest and disagree with you about the level of investment from the club when it comes to winning right now and I think anyone honest can say that Ange has been asked to work with more balanced budgets than Conte.

But I'm also being honest when i say that the squad that we have, the concepts behind our football and recruitment have me engaged mentally and buzzing to watch us play every week.

I'm not a season ticket holder so it's easier for me to let go of the lack of investment from the club though and I'm not going to be a dickhead and sit here acting like my situation is the same.

But sameway, If I felt that way I wouldn't buy a season ticket then just hate watch every week because I feel skanked by the club. I'm also very very dubious about the number of the doom loopers who actually have a season ticket. I'd guess 95% of the people repetitively saying the same shit about Brennan and other players every day, then melting every time another club signs a player, DON'T have a season ticket.

I feel the same and although hate ENIC, will always love watching us play and get excited anyway

I know we just thumped Everton but I really think we’ll struggle for goals in the tough games. Our GF record for the season might be ok again because the way we play, against poorer teams, the flood gates can open. But I just don’t think we have the quality up front to really penetrate the top teams. I hope I’m wrong. I hope Son gets back to his best, Solanke turns out to be a solid striker and Johnson begins to fill his potential. It’s out bench that doesn’t beam confidence
That makes no sense. We have just signed an upgrade at centre forward and scored in nearly every game last season. We have got better options now with Odobert,Gray and Bergvall and they are as good as what we have starting so I can’t see how you’d think we’d struggle for goals against tough teams.
Last season against Liverpool we scored 5
Against Woolwich we scored 3
Against city we scored 3
Against Villa we scored 5.
Against Man Utd we scored 3
Against Newcastle we scored 4

Zero logic in your post.

Last season we were remarkably similar scoring-wise vs top and bottom teams. We scored a total of:
  • 11 against City + Woolwich + Pool
  • 10 against Villa + Chelsea + Barcodes
  • 11 against United + West Ham + Palace
  • 11 against Brighton + Bournemouth + Fulham
  • 11 against Wolves + Everton + Brentford
  • 8 against Forest + Luton
  • 12 against Burnley + Sheffield
It's basically a flat line until you get down to the bottom two.

The problem was that we conceded more against the good sides, not that we couldn't penetrate them; 15 vs the top 3 and 13 vs the next 3.

Edit: nicoclaesen you beat me to it

Apologies 🤣
If we shut the back door more regularly we will easily make top 4 and be much closer to the other 3. The jury is still out on that to be fair.

We suffer an injury to Vicario, on a scale of 1-10 how fucked would we be?

Yet again, we do the bare minimum and people think we should be happy with that. Reduce ticket prices and cost of shirts and sausages rolls and I wouldn't have a problem with our genuine lack of ambition and desire to compete.

BUT we're expected to pay elite prices for a 'project', one that is almost certain to work....this time.

My prediction before we bought Solanke was we’d finish 8th. I’m now thinking 6th at a push. Window hasn’t been at all good enough. There’s no sugar coating it.
Agree, i think we'll do well to get 5th again and reckon 6th. Dont think we have the experience or depth to play 50+ games and absorb the inevitable injuries. Really cant see 4th. It would also be nice at some stage to not just talk about getting 4th.

If no further incomings, I think its fair to say that we'll achieve our target to finish top 6.

Congratulations and thanks to the owners for doing what's needed to get us where we like to be.

Its really that simple.

The way things are run, it seems we have a long term target of challenging once the young blood is established in 3-5 years time.

In the meantime, i don't want to see any moaning from those defending the approach unless we find ourselves lower than 6th
