How Dry should our Powder be?

Our scouting for expensive players such as LoCelso, Ndombele, Richalison Johnson, is meh.

I'm not having a go at Johnson but I reckon £30m would be nearer his value. That might go up in time but not when we bought him, or until now.

The other three have just been disasters.
That's just it, Levy is normally seen bargain hunting and refusing to pay what top players cost, but once in a while when he gets a rush of blood and makes a big signing, it blows up in our faces.

Sancho to Chelsea
Sterling to Woolwich

Why does everyone get to have fun except us?
Because we do things the right way. The moral way.

I love the club mate. I didn't start supporting Spurs because of the trophy count or expectation of trophies, and nothing has changed.

I'm disappointed, sometimes angry, when we lose, happy or ecstatic when we win. Whichever way my emotions go, I'll be over them after a while and looking forward to the next fix.

I've never been a "want it all now" type, after 50+ years of supporting this club, how could I be?

I'll enjoy watching this young team evolve, playing a brand of Football that I truly enjoy. Trophies will be the icing on the cake, and I couldn't care less what a bunch of randoms on an internet forum think of that.
"Jeeves, come here, take a look. The brainwashing....it's...it's......it's worked.......The peasants are content with being mediocre!!! Glory be to god!!!! :levywhoa:

Yeah and that's working out great for us...

Sometimes I just wish we'd act like cunts like the rest of the "Big 6" and have a bit of fun with it. After all that's what this whole game should be about.

Instead we're the boy scouts banning our best 6 for huffing a balloon because it's the right thing to do and buying timeshares in random Johnny Foreigner on deadline day. (AND TRYING OUR DAMNEST TO HAND THE TITLE TO OUR BITTER RIVALS IN THE PENULTIMATE GAME OF THE SEASON).

Just feels a bit small time.

I hear what you’re saying.

I was responding to someone saying 5 million is a risk for Brentford.

5 million, sadly, is peanuts in modern football…. he could be total shite and the cost will be written off .

We spent , literally 10 times that on Gio - the wastage ( of largely our ) money is mind boggling.

Yeah yeah let's file them away in the Chiesa folder.

All these players good enough for Woolwich, Liverpool and Chelsea yet well beneath Spurs because Werner and Johnson ya know.

I don't know about you but a known problem child who can't settle at any club and a player who's will fuck off to Saudi in a couple of years isn't my idea of fun but this is spoilt kid Veronica Salt ' I want it nooooooooooooo' energy pining for two washed players who are only moving to revive their careers, cool.

Overall, I think it has been a disappointing window, though not the disaster some suggest.

Our first 11 last season were a very useful side and that team was definitely a comfortable top 4 side. The problems came when we suffered injuries and suspensions. The fall off in the ability of the other squad players to play our system was catastrophic. Even so, we managed 5th place.

The current squad has given us proper strength in depth. Solanke improves the attack. Dragusin, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Spence and, potentially, Lankshear and Moore, means we do not drop in quality when replacements are needed.

We have offloaded most of the players who don't fit the system.

Of course, I would have liked two more notable signings but I still think we will be strong this season.

I rate the window a 7/10
