Sterling is getting more g/a than anyone in our attack apart from Son and Solanke.
What have the Romans ever done for us??....

I don't know about you but a known problem child who can't settle at any club and a player who's will fuck off to Saudi in a couple of years is my idea of fun but this is spoilt kid Veronica Salt ' I want it nooooooooooooo' energy pining for two washed players who are only moving to revive their careers, cool.
I suppose you're right.

I thought we weren't cooking but then out of the blue we got a call option on Johnny "our answer at 6" Cardoso for next summer so I suppose we actually are COOKING if you really deep it.

Why would we need to sign any proven winners with experience? NOT NEEDED AROUND HERE BABY!

So here's the thing that rankles...

When WE did last minute Deadline day deals, we're cheapskate, penny pinching wide boys...

When Woolwich or CHELSEA do it, they've 'won the transfer window'!!

Fuck off Sky and your pre-medicated narrative wank fest!

Sterling will be a good signing for the scum.

It's annoying we're never in the mix for these types and seemingly because of Levy we are incapable of dealing with rivals.

So we should have Odobert, Werner or Son, and still bring in Sterling?

Makes complete sense.

Sterling is done, cooked, and Woolwich just want him as cover. I mean what other club was scrambling for him?

Fancy spending 325K a week on a sulky, over the hill, bundle of trouble?

Overall, I think it has been a disappointing window, though not the disaster some suggest.

Our first 11 last season were a very useful side and that team was definitely a comfortable top 4 side. The problems came when we suffered injuries and suspensions. The fall off in the ability of the other squad players to play our system was catastrophic. Even so, we managed 5th place.

The current squad has given us proper strength in depth. Solanke improves the attack. Dragusin, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Spence and, potentially, Lankshear and Moore, means we do not drop in quality when replacements are needed.

We have offloaded most of the players who don't fit the system.

Of course, I would have liked two more notable signings but I still think we will be strong this season.

I rate the window a 7/10

No evidence for that.

We were massively boosted by a great start when we had the surprise element of Ange's system to our advantage. That buffer kept us up there despite a complete drop off from November onwards.

We ended the season with everyone back fit and we were still bent over by every decent side we played, losing 5 of our last 7 conceding an average of 3 goals per game in those 5 defeats.

How on earth you can call that comfortably being a top 4 side is beyond me.

You have a very nasty habit of making stuff up and then claiming people said and arguing against your own made up point, the sign of an outmatched scoundrel. Where in the quote below did I say we should be title challengers?

Did our own manager not claim to be in the title race last season and did he not also at the start of this season declare he normally wins things in his 2nd season which is why I would have expected us to have done more to be in a position to compete for trophies, nowhere did I say the title itself which even the gaffer has stopped mentioning after all of the huffiness at the end of last season about "win it yourself if you don't want your rivals to win it".

You didn't address the question quoted above, which incidentally was the whole point that started the discussion, you instead tried to move on to theatricality and deception but that doesn't work on people who can see through it.
Oh you’re not a fan of having your words sensationalised ? Then practice what you preach. Let that be a lesson to you.

I’ll stand by what I initially said, that I find Gray, Bergvall and Odobert to be an immediate upgrade over Hojbjerg, Skipp and Solomon/Gil.

I don’t care for the older groups statistics, they on the whole were a net negative last season. The collective talent alone of the new boys is enough of a “floor-raiser” to work with.

Experience means nothing if it’s mediocre.
