What was Kane and Hazard's contract situation when they left their clubs?
I'm sure you could find out yourself, but you can't compare Brentford's Tony to world-class elite footballers who are wanted by the biggest clubs in world football. What we can say is that he will be relatively cheap this summer because his contract runs out in 2025.

I dont know much about Gyokeres but havent seen anything from Solanke for him to stand out. To be fair none of the CF names being bandied around feel like they'd be a significant improvement. If we cant upgrade on Richarlison by much then i'd prefer 2 wingers who hopefully would be a decent upgrade to what we have.

The wingers are the key players in this system.

The striker just needs to be someone who can get on the end of crosses in the box. In Anges system that's literally their job. So many times both Werner and Johnson have put great crosses in, only for no one to be there to tap them in. Richy was doing it earlier in the season during his purple patch but even then, he seems behind Son in the pecking order regardless

People seem to be expecting a big name. It ain't happening. Money needs to be laid down big time for wide players who will create for our forward.

Which is why it wouldn't surprise me if we just ended up signing someone who's scored loads of goals regardless of their level.

But it also wouldn't surprise me if we just kept Son as striker and coached him to simply be more predatory.

Same.

Was told all kinds of shit for just making the observation that he was a big kid that isn't getting any bigger.

Apparently Ferguson was the only Kane replacement that could show any ambition at all.
Thank you. Some young players are just physically dominant at a very young age, then the case becomes, what else do you have one defenders pick up on your tendencies?

Ferguson seems to have more in common with Armando Broja than he does with a Rooney or Kane.

lol ok seeing as you want to ignore it because it totally counters your point...both on their last year of their contracts, both went for relitavely high fees according to their contract status so the 1 year left argument doesn't always hold water.

Maybe if you want compare apples and oranges and think that those fees were high for world-class highly in demand footballers. But no problem if you think Toney would cost £60m this summer.

Mason Mount went for £55m last Summer with 1 year left...

We are dealing with PL teams with PL money mate, £40m is hilarious.
Again apples and oranges, Mount was a highly rated 24-year-old who had come through their academy and went to United, no wonder they overpaid. Tony is 28.

You need to take into account all those factors if you want to compare transfers.

Uh what? Mount was In terrible form for Chelsea last season, he was coming off the back of a bad season and Mount isn't even THAT highly rated.

The fact that Toney is 28 means he's in his prime so you're getting guarantee now not in the future, strikers/forwards also generally go for a premium as well.

Anyway pointless arguing now, we will see.

Kane didn't score a PL goal until he was two years older than Ferguson is now. Obviously the chances are against anyone being as good as Kane ended up being, but he's a very talented player in a bit of a slump.
