Pretty obvious there were/are players that we'd accept decent offers for but who were still involved in the squad like Skipp. Richarlison is certainly another. Doesnt matter what Ange said if the club got a £50m offer and he wanted to go then he's gone.

Ange can't exactly come out and say that he wants to sell a player like Richarlison and he personally might not want to. From his perspective, Richy is about as good as he could expect for a rotation #9 but that doesn't mean he'd throw his toys out the pram if the club accepted an offer for a valuable asset as long as he was given a replacement.

Prem proven is a lie and Johnson had some insanely flattering numbers last season which are unlikely to happen again.
Interested to know why you think he can't provide similar output again? He had 8 goals and 3 assists in 38 appearances for Forest in his debut PL season, got the figures for us last season that he did, all evidence suggests despite failing the eye test for many on here if he plays as often as he did he will get at least low teens goal contributions for us again. Like it or not his style of play has him involved at the end of moves fairly often, jury is out on whether we could find a player who does that better for a figure the club can afford this summer but I feel he's currently the best we've got right now on the right. I don't think Ange views Odobert as a right winger the way some do on here, I think he's very much been brought in because Ange is (rightly) unconvinced that Sonny can contribute from the left any longer. Saturday showed if we get him in the right positions he can still punish teams from up front but he was completely ineffective against Leicester, I suspect Ange will prefer to play Richy on the left from now on and have Sonny rotating the 9 with Solanke.

It appears that we are happy with Spence as second choice LB with VDV and Davies next in line.
Our net spend is pretty low. We should have been able to make another two signings.

An out of position Spence and a not-fit-for-purpose Davies as LB cover is not ideal really. VDV should be our CB and should be rested not shuffled out to LB because we don't have the right cover.

Not signing a proper number 2 GK is the bigger issue. Relying on Austin and Forster is laughable really so it seems we are just praying nothing happens to Vic despite 0 rotation.

For comparison Woolwich signed Raya when they no longer fancied Ramsdale.
Liverpool are about to sign Marmadashvili despite already having Alisson and a very promising young keeper in Kelleher.
City have Ederson and Ortega.

Maybe they can't find anyone they like and they'll be looking again in January. That's what happened last year.
Yea possibly. Im no scout but would’ve assumed finding a younger player with potential for either position wouldn’t have been that hard.
GK I believe we’ve got a promising player in the academy so understand that we probably don’t want to put another player in his pathway, but don’t believe that’s the case for LB

My worry is that Spence hasn’t really been tested at RB let alone LB.

Best thing about Chiesa to Liverpool is somehow Brennan Johnson is catching a break from it.

Now it’s Werner on loop because we signed him instead of being able to get Chiesa.

Obviously I wasn’t best pleased with the Werner loan because I thought it meant only one forward but I have to hold my hands up because we spent 65m on Solanke and 30m on Odobert.

I get complaints but at least be honest about your complaints and don’t move the goal posts randomly later on to fit your agenda.
No complaints here. I wanted Chiesa, but I'm happy with what I've seen of Odobert so far, as he seems to fit the remit of "right player" rather than name.

Spence played a fair bit at LB last season, club may see his position as LB. All guess work but considering lack of links i would say it's sound.

Yes 2 more of his ex Ajax players plus a Dutch player he will know from his time there.
They have 5 ex Ajax players who he managed.
Probably explains why they keep losing games late on under him.

Kepa undergoing Bournemouth medical ahead of loan move from Chelsea

Latest from Sky Sports News' Mark McAdam:
Kepa Arrizabalaga is currently undergoing his Bournemouth medical ahead of a loan move from Chelsea.
It is understood the deal is a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.
It is also believed the goalkeeper has signed an extended Chelsea deal on reduced terms before the loan was agreed.
The 29-year-old will link up with Cherries boss Andoni Iraola nine years after playing together at Athletic Bilbao.
Last season the Spaniard was on loan at Real Madrid.

Current/one time most expensive keeper in world football.
Going to Bournemouth.

I really think we should keep an eye on Iraola.

Looks like quite a bit of business still to get done in this window.

Lo Celso and Reguillon need shifting.

We clearly need some quality backup full backs. Spence is still way below the level required; and an injury to Udogie puts us clearly in hot water on the left.

We have 3 decent center backs; and Ben Davies; and is Forster a good enough backup for Vic?

Milan Škriniar?
Kyle Walter Peters?
Forster good enough…..😂😂😂

I'd say our net spend is pretty consistent with our last few summer windows tbh, we clearly have a base level of investment that Levy is guaranteed to provide each season regardless of European revenue streams, which seems to be around the £100m net spend mark. Where that was dwarfed by the big spenders of yesteryear it still sees us miles clear on net spend right now over the likes of Woolwich, City and Liverpool and comfortably above Villa, Newcastle and United. We would be higher, but Brighton are spending the nest egg they've spent the last 3 years selling key players to build and Ipswich are clearly spending in an effort to stay up in the vein of Forest 2 seasons ago. I suspect we will get 1 more in, it's the Levy trademark to sign a player from absolutely fucking nowhere in the last few days, then we're likely in the top 4 for net spend this summer which I'd say is a very reasonable level of investment, especially when considering the clubs mentioned who are all currently beneath us on net spend.

Forster isn’t perfect and needs to be upgraded but in terms of our actual system I think the LCB/LB is a bigger problem because of the immense athleticism it requires. We basically need a Ben Davies with monster physicality to give VDV and Udogie cover.

Ricky on the left is actually idea as he can’t control the ball either, doesn’t have the pace, skill or technique to beat a man.

Of course Woolwich/City/Liverpool are below us on net spend - then finished 25 points ahead ffs! They have way less work to do.

This summer we've been outspent by Brighton, Ipswich and Chelsea and we're on par with United and West Ham.

Given our revenues we should be doing more to close the gap on the teams above.

Very odd how we have completely ignored LB and GK. Understand that not every need can be met in a single window, but we don’t have a suitable longer term solution for either of those positions.
I think the HG and Non-HG, Europa club-trained issues have something to do with it. Would not be surprised to see us bring a young GK in before the deadline. POK mentioned an Italian kid at Fiorentina.
