I'm sorry if you can't understand the concept of one player replacing another one it's because you really don't want to understand it. I'm done with this idiotic conversation.
Or maybe you don't understand the nuance of purchasing a starting player and competition for a starting place. I'm sure we spent 65 mil on Solanke "squad options" in attack. Good day.

because we’d ideally shift Bissouma or Bentancur to make room for him.

Also it gives us a chance to evaluate him over the course of the season. It’s really not that different to us buying Dele, Saar, Udogie and Yang ahead of time, except we have the option to back out in case he either doesn’t progress as imagined or *knocks wood* develops any injury issues.

Betis not having the cash for GLC made this a possibility.
Could have made it a probability as well

Solanke came in to start most games for sure but the player he’s taking starts from was also 60m and probably still plans to win the battle to start.

That’s the motivation you want in a squad. Even if most of us think Richy isn’t getting the memo. Saying that, if Richy went Ange says he wants 2 strikers so he’d probably be replaced.

If Bentancur struggles to stay fit this year (for example) then it’s his spot in the rotation that would be there for Cardoso to win. How many games he starts vs Gray is to the two of them to prove.

Bergvall isn't a 6 either.
Never said he was. Bergvall can play as an 8 or a 10 and Gray is currently solely defensive; 6 or full back (remains to be seen if he can invert)

Fair point on the versatility of Bentancur in terms of squad numbers but that was never my point. I talking about whether Cardosa walks into the starting 11 over a player who is already competing for that throughout preseason and 2 games into the current season. I will take Ange on his words about Grey's readiness and the need for "routes" into the starting team.

They realised they had Bynoe-Gittens who pisses all over Sancho.

He managed a goal or assist every 266 minutes last season. He's fucking wank.

Flopped at United. Crap when he went back to Dortmund and he'll be just as shit at Chelsea too.
Another example that as football is the most popular sport in the world with so many new players coming along, the industry changes very fast. Yet people still pine after certain names because of familiarity, not what they actually are.

The stupid thing about the Sterling and Sancho shouts is that it literally opposes the long held belief in how ENIC run this football club and how they hold us back because they are both are literally last minute opportunistic signings, whatever happened to signing players in early and get them in before pre season?

I detest sections of this fanbase man, just moan for the sake of moaning man

I havent looked less forward to a season since the 90s.

No wonder Kane left. Imagine his face if he were still here with the quality of player we are bringing in. We are going backwards fast.
As a fairly big club, We just come across as so content with being average & winning nothing every year. Throw in an odd fan base who many picked levy over our all time top goal scorer & this is the situation we find ourselves in. It’s worse with the way modern football has gone & even more about ££. I Never would prioritise watching football now, even over quite mundane stuff ha.
