They’re powerless without a real voice. They can’t do much.

Trust asks THFC's Board to explain strategy
27/9/2021

Over the past few weeks we’ve been contacted by an increasing number of Trust members and the wider fan base who are extremely concerned about the current direction of THFC.

Part of our role as a Trust is to ensure the Club’s Board are fully aware of supporter sentiment. So we have asked for a meeting with the Club’s Executive Board to discuss both the short and long-term strategic vision for the football club.

The Club’s Board will be aware of the questions currently being asked by the Trust, by fans and by the media. This meeting, therefore, is an opportunity for the decision makers at THFC to explain their plans to supporters. This explanation should include plans for this season and beyond, an explanation of how success will be measured and how the Club’s DNA will be regained.

We await their response, and will update on our website as soon as there is any news.

All change at the top!!

Changes in leadership at THST
It has been a transitional time for the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust in recent months, as is often the case after a period of sustained stability. Priorities, remit and structure are being redefined as the THST Board shapes the next iteration of an independent Trust to flourish alongside the Club’s new Fan Advisory Board.

Consequently, Stephen Cavalier and Rachel Martin are stepping down as Trust Co-chairs after 10 months in post to move onto the next stage of development; to represent THST on the Fan Advisory Board, if the Trust’s participation is approved at tonight’s members’ meeting. They remain as THST Board Members. We thank Rachel and Steve for their chairmanship which has brought the agreement of the terms of the FAB, a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Club and the season ticket price freeze and post season deadline renewal.

The Trust Board appointed Martin Buhagiar as its new Chair at a specially convened THST Board meeting last night. Martin will be supported by newly-appointed Vice Chairs Anthoulla Achilleos and Michael Green.

We also congratulate Martin, Anthoulla and Michael on their appointments.

The Trust Board is committed to accountability and transparency and looks forward to communicating future plans with its members over the coming weeks, starting with tonight’s online meeting.

The Trust have collated points needed for away games over the last 5 seasons.

We routinely collate information on the ticketing points required for Spurs Premier League away games and summarise that information annually in an infographic showing data from the last five seasons.

We have updated the infographic with the ticketing point cut-offs from the 2022-23 season.

The lowest number of points required for Premier League away games were 302 for Manchester United and 307 for Everton (271 for restricted view tickets for the latter).

You can view the infographic by clicking on the document at the bottom of this page.

It is worth noting that these fixtures took place on a Wednesday and Monday night, respectively. The highest number of points required were 486 for Bournemouth and 470 for Brentford – both clubs with lower capacity stadia, meaning our visiting allocations were significantly less than the 3,000 standard.

The biggest increase in points needed for an away game was for Newcastle, for which 203 points were required in the 2021-22 season – the lowest cut-off across all Premier League fixtures. This increased by 113 points to 316 in 2022-23. It wasn’t an enjoyable visit as far as the football was concerned, to say the least.

So we plan to protest at the sold-out Man U game... is it just me that sees the irony in this?

I'm all for the Trust doing what they can but this should have been addressed properly towards the end of last season.

Protesting at a game is the only meaningful traction this can get.

No social media campaign is going to work.

THST and the FAN advisory Board are just mouthpieces, often nothing will come out of it but they've got be seen as doing something to try and change things.
