This is why every time I hear somebody waxing lyrical about some up and coming 18-20 yr old from the French/Dutch or wherever league I roll my eyes.
We should be buying players who have already cut their teeth in a quality league, this is why I was big on signing Ings, and I'm big on Traore. You know you are getting players who can perform at the required level.
Its not the worst thing to have a player who tackles, intercepts and presses for 60 minutes and add the few goals and assists more than winksoko who only harm us for 90 minutes
But he covers ground when he's on the field. Okay he might run at a 55° angle , but he's generally above average for distance covered when he's on the field. Obviously if we could go back two years I wouldn't break our transfer record on the guy but while he's here I think he's one of our better midfielders and I'd make use of him if we can't get a deal that benefits us.
What message does it send to the rest of the squad? Arse around and we'll still keep you? All he has done is fucking moaned and sauntered about the turf, when he's not training with his stupid hat on in all weathers.

Agree on Ings, but I'd argue knowing what we are getting with Traore isn't necessarily a good thing.
I'm undecided on him and certainly wouldn't pay the £40m sums being mentioned. Yes, he is a physical beast and destroys ball carrying stats but his end product is truly woeful. For his talent his goals and assists to date speak volumes.
Yeah everything you say is fair, I just think of him making those driving runs and lighting up the Lane, getting the crowd going. We've missed that since Ginola.
I think he could be an incredible signing.
I think there is a little bit of snobbery around him as well, because we are Spurs and we like technical players we don't go in for physical powerful players.
I just see Adama and think he could be our Salah. The player that goes to the next level.

on match days Definitely terrible value for money. Considering how shit we areat retaining the ball in midfield, Id still have him play the second half of matches currently. Unless of course we buy someone good instead of Winksoko who are just trash and hojskip who arent very good at moving the ball forward regularly.
