Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Funny combination of screen name and opinion here
Nothing funny about it, he did little creatively besides scoring a good goal against one of the worst midfields we will face all season who haven't won a single league game yet. Almost exactly like Sheffield United last season.

Gave the ball away cheaply trying too much and still lacks work rate compared to the other midfielders.

Much better display. Has his deserved critics, but only guy in that position we have who can produce some moments of magic and the creative spark so worth sticking with him.

Yeh... Against Villa the work-rate was better but the quality on the ball dipped... Today we saw a decent dose of both (even if we're right to demand even more).

His pass completion was above 90% today.

He played well, I was very happy with his intensity off the ball. By his low standards he worked very hard, still a lot to improve but I think he pushed himself today. Now he needs to do it every game. He has to start taking his career seriously.

Ndombele everywhere and immense, he's exactly what Spurs need, the swagger, its just at missing the right combination.

Skipp is amazingly fast at recovery after a mistake. I can't fault spurs but if Skipp or Hojberg giving more offensively, we be brilliant

Of course, right back remains a position we need to replace with Dest, Mazraoui.

I rather play Dier there and pair Sanchez with Romero

Great, thorough analysis.

Your expertise is appreciated.

Thank you for this.

My life has changed for the better.

To my mind this wasn’t a one off. He had a good game against Villa too. You might not have felt it at the time but please go back and have a look at the replay.

He pressed. He ran. He tried to create. He even told Kane to press (which Kane objected too haha). Not all his creation was successful but he was trying to do something different outside the patterns of passing we find from PEH, Skipp, Alli etc.

It’s a bit worrying that both the Villa and Newcastle games were closer in score line than they should have been from any relevant stat. I mean, Newcastle only had one shot on goal all game.

It's obvious that Tanguy is our creative spark and when he's on his game, we play attractive, effective football. He just now needs to add consistency and up his fitness, and we might finally get some value for our money.

I think you’d only be happy if we had a team of Vinny Jones clones. You seem to dislike anyone with skill. Creative players often lose the ball because they take risks. We just need to make sure Ndombele is further up the pitch to negate the risk which we did today. You are so blinded by hatred for the man that I think you need some counselling!

I agree with you.
Ndombele had a decent game against a non entity midfield.
I hope he can keep it up but I have my doubts.

The spacing between 29, 5 , and 28 was key.

See what we look like when the midfield is filled in and we set out to control the game, as opposed to hollowing it out.

We’ve got far too many good players to be playing the kind of garbage tactics we did vs Woolwich and Palace.

The you saw the confidence soaring through EVERYONE. Look how happy they were with the 3rd. Good players want to be playing good football.
