Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah, life doesn't work like that. Of course it's a factor, but if anything, you could ask "why bother working my arse off when I'm already set for life?". He could literally stop being a footballer tomorrow and be better off than 99% of us on here.

It's like trying to understand why rich people have similar suicide rates to poor people - everything is relative to your situation.

Clearly he struggled with work ethic as a younger player, hence the stories of him being unfit. He found the motivation once to rise to the top, but staying there is a different challenge.

Either we find a way to unlock that motivation again, or move him on to somewhere and take a hit on the transfer fee. Its clearly a psychological issue.

Who... who... is that 1 percent?

I gotta make sure I don't dish out disagrees, play the long game here.

Compare him to Hoddle's running stats!? 😂

Hahahahaha. What a load of utter shite. Game has changed a bit in almost fucking 40 years.
Of course it has it's now followed by dumb fuckwits like you who judge players on how much they run around.

Nobody was comparing Tanguy or Dele to Hoddle either you thick cunt. Read it again and try to understand what's being inferred before you start wanking over your keyboard.

He was doing those numbers when he was apparently shit though. Some people have no concept of what actually makes a footballer.

I'd love it if someone went back and managed to get Hoddle's running stats, i'll bet they were rubbish. But what he did with the ball was much more important and decisive.
They don't understand the game. I just don't read their drivel mate.

Alasdair Gold's TFC podcast had interesting insight on Ndombele:

24:41-27:55

"The usual cycle of Ndombele is to: work hard, play well, everyone starts to praise you, believe your own hype, want to play at a higher level, strop, ask for a move, don't get the move, start at square one again."

"The thrust of it is Ndombele wants to play for the biggest clubs in the world, he feels that's his level."

I was of the impression that Ndombele's issues were that he didn't connect with the squad due to his friends leaving and hadn't settled in to the country etc.; but Alasdair Gold was quite clear that the major reason he wanted to leave was because he felt Spurs wasn't his level.

I think it's clear talent wise that he could be at the world's elite clubs if he actually bothered to put some effort in for a sustained period at Spurs.

Pretty baffling he can't see how the two correlate - either a complete moron or a lazy cunt. We don't need either at the club.

I’m not sure he ever got to square one here.

I just don't understand how he thinks he's too good for Spurs when he can't get in the squad. People making excuses for him are gullible.

Its clear that we do not have the full picture on the Ndombele situation.

Heard a lot of rumblings that he doesn't like England due to the weather and culture - and regretted the move from day 1. Word is that he visited Liverpool and ask the driver to return to the airport on the way to the meeting.

Maybe he has been honest with each coach - he doesn't want to stay; so there is no point in us developing him as a player; only for somebody else to benefit.

Given the transfer fee paid, we cannot terminate his contract; and I am sure behind the scene's we are working on shifting him out as soon as the money starts flowing in european football again

He came from a French club for fucks sake. It's hardly night and day compared to England in regards to anything.
