Competition The “They’re really going to have a World Cup in QATAR?” Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's clear refs are biased and follow a popular narrative, this isn't corruption levels but some refs will favour certain teams/players over the other so if the narrative and in particular a directive from FIFA is that they prefer a big name in the final then you should expect some weird calls.

The ref in the France/England game was clearly either incompetent or on the take, or both.

But yes, the notion this is all conspired to get the desired final would require some serious levels of corruption with multiple teams/refs, etc.
I think there are serious levels of corruption in this sham of a tournament.

Messi will probably get an injury time winner to tick the bullshit Hollywood narrative.

Ref's continually make human interpretation errors = "corrupt incompetent cunts in on a big conspiracy"

VAR makes offside completely objective, accurate and fair = "football decisions were never meant to be this accurate, where's the room for human interpretation"

Now we're done we can move onto the next World Cup which will be hosted in US/Canada and Mexico

I hope those you were up in the arms about this WC and didn't watch it keep the same energy in 4 years time.

I'll try to be brief!

Thanks for posting the picture!

Probably nothing will change in the situation of these people in Qatar, perhaps the "improvements" that the rulers felt compelled to make will be scaled back again?

I've been asking myself questions since yesterday after the final whistle.

What did my television boycott achieve?
Was it just a kind of self-soothing - No!
Can I imagine that this can have any influence - Yes!
Would I have done this too, if the World Cup z. B. would have taken place in Egypt - No!
During the World Cup, did I get annoyed that I decided not to watch a game - Yes!
Am I worse than if I saw the games - No!
I believe that the rulers in Qatar, the officials of FIFA, UEFA and the national football federations will change - LOL!

If I didn't have to be consistent and stop buying new cell phones, buy clothes I don't know where they came from, get involved a lot more in the municipal problems of my city, help the poor on the streets every day I've followed a fad and have assuaged my moral knowledge and don't I have to apply that moral standard to everything, really everything I deal with?

This act of boycotting a World Cup in an undemocratic, in my opinion partly inhumane country leaves me with more questions than I have answers.

And to be perfectly honest, I don't think I'm a better fan, let alone a better person, than those who watched every game with gusto.

Nor do I believe that I am able (because my personal will to do so is far too poorly developed as it should be) to all of the above. to take points consistently.

I will - as of now - follow the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA and "enjoy" every game?!
