I’d actually like for Son to make the next leg and score 2 of his goals of old, taking him above Chivers in the all-time goal scorers’ list.I actually think we missed Son too. That’s the kind of European fodder he scores a couple against.

I think we lost control a bit when Maddison went off. He was great at getting hold of the ball and making something happen.I can't help but think that late goal is going to prove costly. We were superb for an hour but right after the penalty our levels (god our sound like Ange) dropped of a cliff. We were passive in every phase of the game. Yes we had some chances but I just felt it was hard work after the hour mark and because of that the outcome was obvious. Pussy footing around and second best all over the park. 3-1 as a score line is about par. I hope we can put in a shift at theirs and get through but that goal at the end changes the complexion of the game. If they score early, we might become the first thing that's ever melted in the Artic Circle...
I have eyes.I keep coming back to this post. I read it on the train home and thought "eh? Didn't look like that at the game, I'll have to check the replay..."
I've now checked the replay.
Literally nothing in this post is true. It's all utter horsehit. What on earth is going on with you that you'd write this?![]()
I don't know how you can look at a defender booting the leg of an opposition player when the ball has gone and think "Nah, nothing in that"?!Clear foul by Biss on our first. That's never a pen on Romero, but Udogie's foul on their guy is. Romero could (should?) have been sent off for that off the ball incident. Ref was homecooking all night long. We'd be fuming if that had gone the other way round.
I have eyes.
And unlike you, I'm able to call a spade a spade even if that goes against the team I've been supporting for over 40 years.
Weirdly that's also what one of the dudes I watched the game with thought. He's only a professional referee in the Swiss leagues, but I guess Phomesy knows best.
If Woolwich had gotten away with them incidents, you'd be writing to UEFA.
Oh and you don't like my posts, there's a feature for that.
Pity you don't have intelligence to go with it. Or a working knowledge of the rules of footballI have eyes.

With a very poor manager so negates the quality of our playersThe fact of the matter is, when we have our key players available, we are a very good team.
They've won all their home Europa league games this season. All bar 1, by 2 or more goals.I watched the game, read the thread and then went back to check the score.
I swear anyone reading this thread would think that we were the ones who lost 3-1.
Jesus, I'm all for not getting overconfident but the down in the dumps thing because "we only won 3-1"???
We're in a great position and it will be a hard match over there - but what do people expect? This is for a place in a European cup final?
We were a goal down to Ajax heading to their place in 2019!
COYS!
One or two League positions actually. To be fair, we're barely above Championship caliber ourselves lately.
Romero is going away from goal, the defender is entitled to try & win that ball, the touch is so soft but Romero makes a meal of it. That happens in the middle of the pitch, ref waves play on. Clear & obvious error so VAR required? Not in my books.I don't know how you can look at a defender booting the leg of an opposition player when the ball has gone and think "Nah, nothing in that"?!
Can I suggest you open them? Possibly put some lenses over them?
Particularly when you have an agenda against the club, which you've taken great pains to browbeat everyone with. And unlike you, I'm able to call a spade a spade even if that goes against the team I've been supporting for over 40 years.
Ah, the bastion of refereeing professionalism, the Swiss leagues.Weirdly that's also what one of the dudes I watched the game with thought. He's only a professional referee in the Swiss leagues, but I guess Phomesy knows best.
Whilst it appears that you'd be celebrating them. At the very least, you'd be using them as a stick to beat our club with.If Woolwich had gotten away with them incidents, you'd be writing to UEFA.
The go to response by anyone on here who cannot deal with their "opinion" being challenged.
Players also gently place their hands on a defenders back in the corner and get a freekick everytime, that wouldn't be given in the box. So I'm not sure on your point here?Romero is going away from goal, the defender is entitled to try & win that ball, the touch is so soft but Romero makes a meal of it. That happens in the middle of the pitch, ref waves play on. Clear & obvious error so VAR required? Not in my books.
But Romero twatting a Bodo player off the ball and only getting a yellow is okay? Gotcha.
How about Bissouma pushing their player in the back before Brennan's goal?

thankfully it looks like the players have declared UDI for the european ties now and the matches v Wolves and LFC away recently are like chalk and cheese. With a very poor manager so negates the quality of our players

This really says a bit about how the Bodø-Glimt players view Ange's pressure tactics. And, like their coach, Kjetil Knudsen, they are rather unusualy open about it commenting about an opponents tactics (or rather lack of it):
Center-back Jostein Gundersen: I don't like to put them down, but ...
Those European matches are a bit different. They come man-to-man and are surprised that we are so good at playing us out from behind..
"It is often more difficult to break down Norwegian Eliteserie teams in that phase of the game."
Right-back Fredrik Sjøvold in particular is feisty in the comments about Spurs.
Asked by Avisa Nordland's live studio to characterize Tottenham's pressing game, he is blunt stated:
"Ass!" ("Ræva" in Norwegian).
"I wouldn't say they're ass. It's a very good team and they're good with the ball, but the pressure is no better than an okay Norwegian top-flight team. It's possible to play it out."
Which is why this sport is so amazing. Lazio is vastly better player for player, but still should have lost by at least 5 goals away from home. At home, they appeared to be the better team, but not by that much. I think many will be surprised by how big the difference is between Bodø/Glimt at home and away. On top of that, they’ll be getting back their two clearly most important players, Berg and Evjen.Lazio are better than them too FFS. Their only chance against any team is at the 4k stadium with an artificial pitch. Lazio battered them in Italy they just had a deficit to make up and lost on pens. Teams take them a bit lightly and cup ties are cup ties.
They reminded me of the teams we met in each early round of the UEFA Cup in 71/72, 72/73 and 73/74.I don't think it was a foul tbf. I was surprised a European referee didn't give it (they fucking love fouls) but it was basically 50/50 physicality.
I did think our penalty was hilarious nonsense, but wasn't surprised because European refs.
Overall, we played quite well, but it was against a side who had a few tidy on the ball players but less genuine quality footballers than some of the higher level league one sides. I don't know if that was due to their missing talent and we will see something else in Bodo, but it was very clear they weren't very good.
Alright lads… you got slapped tonight and scored with your only shot on target… wind it in.
