Probably explains why Ange shouldn’t be a PL coach or manager too. And hopefully won’t be for much longer.
You know best of course

5th last year, Two semi finals this year. Maybe a first final in 6 years, maybe a first trophy in 40.

The pitch will be watered to make it as fast as possible. A dry old 3G pitch can not be compared to a new, fast and wet one. That's night and day. In Norway some teams skips to water their 3G pitch when Bodø/Glimt visits. Not all artificial pitches play the same way. The one we have at the training ground is also indoors so it will be different to the one at Tamworth and at Bodo. Makes sense to not train too much on that. Unfortunately European rules are you only get to train on the away pitch for a session on the day before.
The ones with those black rubber beads play slower. I went out to watch us play Young Boys in the first away CL game under redknapp. We were 3-0 down inside 30 minutes.
Dawson and Bassong were CBs and they weren't used to the ball holding up and extra bounce almost like a tennis ball. Through balls they were expecting to run through to Gomes were just slowing down.
It looks like the Bodo pitch runs faster, almost like the old school astro with sand (I've got plenty of burns on my legs from sliding on that surface) . The weight of passing from our players needs to be good. Otherwise the ball will just run out.
I don’t disagree , the problem is we haven’t played that formation under Ange but I feel our squad is actually designed for that formation .Back 5 to start on Wednesday.
Midfield of Bissouma, Bentancur and Sarr or Kulusevski.
Front 2 of Solanke and a n other, and that should ne Johnson, who absolutely knows how to time his runs.
If it looks lacking revert.

And now 4 days,
I think it's more that Postecoglou continues to believe his way is best, despite all the conflicting evidence.
An absolute sign of inflexible and not adaptable.
So it's a back 5 then..No one in their right mind will start with a formation and setup completely unfamiliar to the players in a semi final...
Hardly a cauldron were walking into. This is where our players need to earn their big wages and reputation. Getting to the final. Fail and they can all go in the summer.
We can hope i really don't want this transfer window buying players for ange getting to November and sacking him because it's a possibility if we win the europa I want the cup so bad but at the same time I dont want him here next season
