Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not sure I would have done, think we were more than capable of really turning them over 1st leg to take the pressure off the tricky away match. They were terrible first half today, we really should have come away from that game with more than a 2 goal lead.

It’s fair, and you’re right having watched it and coming out the other end we should be more comfortable.

We just always have to give away that soft goal it seems, like it’s embedded in us. When really, in hindsight there wasn’t a whole lot of threat on us, I can’t recall Vicario making a save.

At the end of the day, it's a two legged process and we've still got the second leg to come. Too early to start bragging. Google the half-time tannoy announcement for Cup Final tickets in the 1987 League Cup Semi-Final for an example of what can go wrong if we get ahead of ourselves and rub people up the wrong way.

So far, so good. If we can produce more of the same for the second leg, we have every chance of making it to the Final.

I'm dreading the prospect of facing United. I can't bear the thought of losing to them in the Final after beating them three times this season.

A Long with conditions and pitch we also might be missing a couple more players next week and they have around 4 back regarding suspensions etc.
Looked like muscle injuries again for madders and Dom.

This is more than okay of a result honestly. That should do the job in fact.

There's no need to sugarcoat it, this Bodo team is Championship caliber. Were they even better than Elfsborg when the latter played here few months ago? Either artificial pitch is the ultimate cheat code, on par with extremely high altitude, or Lazio just suck(ed).

Either way, there's no excuse for failing to advance. And I think we will go through, more comfortably than some seem to think here.

Think we did enough to go through. I expect we will score at least 1 up north and that should be enough to see them off, hopefully.

Thought this was about as underwhelming a 3-1 win with 24 shots could be. I didn’t think we really got out of second gear the whole night.

In all fairness, all of us would have taken 3-1 before kick-off.

If we capitulate in the second leg at 3-1 then 3-0 still wouldn't be a big enough lead.

Based on tonight's game they offered very little but a deflected goal.

Either I am not seeing what others are, but they are nothing better then a mid Championship side whoever they have beaten in the past.

They were missing some of their best players supposedly tonight. Saying that think son would've grabbed a brace tonight with some of the space they were leaving

But I think it's the surroundings that is the great leveler for them. Tamworth ironically might have been the perfect experience for us

As long as we play smart and counter there attacks next week we will be fine but please don't sit back and play into their hands they will be relentless from the off we need to only score 1 to kill their confidence

3-0 it’s done. 3-1 it’s not. And I feel they will be pretty content to chase back 2 at their place. They win 70% of their games @ home in Europe and we are a bit prone to a dramatic shit of our pants.

I felt happy @ 3-0. Leaving the stadium I felt a bit worried and not happy. That’s Spurs under Ange ( and everyone else )

...hang on, that caution didn't last long!

I thought you said we had a 2nd leg to navigate first!?

So you're saying we're getting knocked next week .
Okay nice for you to put your neck on the line

I can’t predict what will happen: obviously the prospect of a team with the 9th highest income in world-football rolling into town with a 2 goal advantage against a tiny club with a 8k stadium in the furthest realms of Norway which a large number of people ( even in Scandinavia) have NEVER heard of ; would suggest it should be a walk-over .

But believe me Kaz Hirai ; it could not go completely to plan .

I’m always optimistic but sometimes in all our lives a healthy dose of realism “ happens “ .

It would be unrealistic to do otherwise.

Lazio are currently 7th in Serie A and they also beat Mourinho's Roma 6-1 back in 2021, calling them "Championship Caliber" is a bit harsh.
