Why shouldn't i? He's taken over a fairly average bloated squad got rid of the dead wood, brought through some young and talented academy players and along with some good signings turned them into title contenders in a short space of time. I'd say he has done a fantastic job so far and that is why i said he COULD not WOULD or even SHOULD turn out to be this generations Bill Nicholson that is the difference. The prospect of winning silverwear under this man is scintilating. He is a man of great focus and is very driven - he is not done with us by a long shot. We are lucky to have him over the likes of the embarassing Mourinho/Conte.

I just don’t think you understand the legend that Bill Nicholson was and is to our club. He served as manager from 1958-1974, the sixties were the greatest period that the club has ever know.
I agree Poch is a very good manager but until the trophy’s, titles etc start rolling in under him I will not consider him worthy of comparison to the great Bill Nicholson, nor I think will others on this forum.

I didn’t say in any of my posts that you know nothing at all. Obviously you admire Pochettino and what you say he has achieved at our club, fair enough I have no problem with that; l just find it a little premature to say he’s going to be as great for us as Bill Nicholson was, but neither am I saying he won’t be. I hope he does as well for us as Nicholson did, i’m sure that we all do on this forum.
For the time being we’ll respect each other’s views and agree to differ?

Agree Levy has made many manager cock ups, too many for me i’m afraid. Over all I think he and the board have guided us very well from a financial point of view (we’re in very good hands) we should also give credit to Lord Sugar who saved us in the first instant and laid the solid financial foundations Levy has built on. As to it being too much of a gamble to finance our stadium alone on consistent CL qualification yes i’d agree, but aren’t all businessmen gamblers to a greater or lesser degree?

wtf !!!!!

Total change of subject, but how come you have a Type 23 as your profile pic?

I’m not sure ‘wanting to play in the champions league’ is ever as big as it was made out to be.

‘Good chance to win the champions league’ plus financial incentive is the key

Otherwise besiktas would have had a lot better players over the years...

I think you might be right there. The british media are incredibly obsessed with the champions league in terms of who will qualify or who won't. Media overseas seems to be completely different and don't overhype the race for qualification

Differs so much from country to country. In smaller countries that don't have guaranteed spots in the CL it is a big deal if a team makes it through to the group stage. But I agree that Britain has a special fetish for the CL. Probably a bit spun out of English teams being locked out of Europe for a while

I worry if we don’t make the top 4 or win the FA Cup we’ll lose our top players, could easily see Kane and Ali going, unlike the fans there is no loyalty to a club now from players.

Supporters are loyal to the club, sure. But are they loyal to players or management? Are the clubs loyal to players or managers?

As soon as players stops pleasing us, many not only wants them to be sold, but may boo them and harass them both in real life and on social media. Managers are treated equally badly. Hell, even players performing admirably in most fans' eyes will get shit from other fans.

If a club management wants a player out they may be treated quite horribly (relatively speaking. They may be completely frozen out from what they rely on to make their living, and in some cases what they love doing.

Sure, we want our players to be loyal and to love our club, but it can't realistically be expected from them. We should appreciate loyal players, but accept that some won't be. (However! We should not accept behaviour such as Rose's backstabbing interview or GKN's wearing of a Chelsea shirt!)
