Eze contract runs until June 2027, 2 years away. So Eze has little control over situation - would he be prepared to go on strike and would Palace with 2 years left on his contract.

The release contract of £68m is apparently payable in one payment up front - I doubt if too many clubs could pay that

So unless Palace want to sell, I can't see them negotiating

There's already a big thread for people to obsess away in about how Daniel Levy made them miss a bus and lose their car keys. It doesn't need to bleed in to here off the back of an off-hand comment relating to footballers signing long contracts.

We hired a guy who could make a functioning team out of whatever value the recruitment staff could identify in the market to maximize our funds. Which is what he did at Brentford.

I just don't see Mbeumo for 70M and big wages as maximizing our funds. We could get Eze or Xavi Simons or Rafael Leao for that money and I think those are better footballers.

How many wingers score 20 goals in a season these days? Son did at one time, Salah still does. £70m sounds ok to me.

That's fair. As I posted, we do love to see one of our own making it. However, as long as we have top talent coming through, whilst it might be nicer for them to be our own, as long as they're doing the business for Spurs then I'm happy regardless.
