NGL I'm worried about Woolwich this season. Expecting a drop off from Liverpool, and not sure City have done enough in the window. Woolwich look like the finished product now if they sign all these players. Worrying times
Liverpool are either gonna go all out to WIN IT FOR JOTA and be a force to be reckoned with, or the emotion will be too much and they'll lose focus....
Man City won't fuck up 2 seasons in a row hopefully...
BUT I Think YOU'RE FORGETTING ABOUT US!!
Let THEM do the worrying for once!!

Zubimendi would have been the perfect signing for us, makes me sick those cunts up the road have nailed him
...but THOSE CUNTS can offer CL football... We can't ..... Oh wait!

I do find it very strange that we haven't sold Gil & Soloman the moment the window opened. Surely, we would have been trying to find a buyer for these all year.

According to the press gossip we are trying to get a cut price deal on the American left back Antonee Robinson from Fulham; with Ben Davies going to Fulham as part of the deal.

Frank wants to work with Solomon and for an opinion, like that of the rest of the squad, Gil i think is already considered surplus to requirements.

Solomon was Leeds player of the season and deservedly so. I think his early injury with us, and Ange not fancying him led to his loan.

He would improve us, and with the amount of games we face would be a good addition.

Gut feeling is that we will sell him to Leeds.

how did you get off my ignore list you little scamp?

We sign Richarlison for 60M then Solanke for 65M, then Woolwich goes and gets Gyokeres, a plainly superior, more talented, higher-ceiling player for 70M.

We're very, very stupid.

he circumstances now are totally different.

Gyokeres has made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to the club.

He wouldn't have been sold at the time we brought in either Richy or Solanke, and how do you know how Gyokeres will do in the PL?

With Solanke Ange had a player who worked more or less box to box for the team, and for his ability to press.

Gyokeres can do neither.

no i'm not in the room so yes i'm making assumptions but they're based on the player suddenly coming out and saying he only wants spurs in the midst of a back and forth negotiations.
It came out following us putting in the first concrete bid. He wants to be at Tottenham. His decision is far more likely to be based on what he wants for his own career progression, and what his own agent has advised him.
i don't think i'm in left field here.
I don't think you're even in the field mate 😜
i'm guessing this plays out for another week or so until we eventually sign him for a bit under the release clause or the player gets impatient with the process and fucks off to another club who isn't asking him to squeeze wham for a few quid
The release clause expires in 2 days. Kudus only wants us and won't talk to any other club. The offer we have made is, in my opinion, a very fair one. Any further faffing about will be because West Ham are playing silly buggers, so he'll be more likely to have the hump with them than us.

Don't let your dislike of Levy cloud your thinking here. We've made a fair offer, probably more than he is actually worth if we're honest, so there's really nothing to suggest that any delay is because of us.

They won the FA Cup.
They have challenged for the title (to a degree) in the last 3 seasons.
They have moved ahead of us in leaps and bounds on the pitch. We won the Europa League because we were in it, they weren't and nobody else was anywhere near as good as them either.

It's fine to hate them, but let's not pretend their spending hasn't led to them improving whilst our wage trimming has seen us decline.

Five seasons of spend, spend, spend, for what, an FA Cup?

They spent a fortune 22/23 and 23/24 to gain 0.1 point a game.

Then last season reduced that by 0.3 of a point per game.

Throwing money at the problem just doesn't work, their run in the CL again failed, despite spending huge sums of money.

"We won the EL because we were in it" is a daft statement, a team can only beat the opposition that they face whatever the competition.

The year Woolwich won the FA Cup in some rounds they faced such stellar opposition such as Leeds, Bournemouth, Pompey, Sheffield United, Man City and Chelsea. Hardly tough games up until the semi-finals.

Perspective needed.

Solanke's role is to press a lot and act as a focal point - and the plan was to share the goals which worked. That's why Spurs were amongst the highest goal scorers last season.

The real problem for Solanke was (i) not getting regular rest and rotation whilst pressing a lot to help team so he's often tired hence will not be prolific (2) Not getting enough chances made for him, we didn't have enough creativity........ Solve the creativity problem and not have Solanke pressing enough and he'll score more goals.

Richarlison's problem was mainly not being fit enough - BUT he's never been a high scorer. His 'talent' is being a busy pest - that's the skill Conte bought him for. If he's fit enough to play more he'll probably score more goals but he'll never be a high scorer

BTW, having a £60m price tag has never guaranteed a high number of goals being scored.
The hell does SHARE THE GOALS mean?! . They is no such thing as "hey! you score now I will score next! okay?"
A player that can score will score goals no matter what. Kane and Son was proof of that. Don't care how he does it, just do it.
I don't care how good his pressing is, a striker is nothing without goals. Raise your damn standards.

All this bo!!ocks about Afsenal makes me laugh. Some of it is really sh!t. The rest pretty much garbage

They are 2 levels above us, at least.

They will have soon bought 4 players, whilst we have Takei, whoever he is, and are chasing some player, none of the actual big teams are interested in, and that will take all summer

Frank has agreed to the signing of Tel, Takei and looks like he will add Kudus as well.

Frank is in his fourth week, Arteta is entering his sixth season.

Currently Woolwich are possibly two levels above us, but which side won silverware last season despite being decimated by injuries?

It's not about how much you spend or how quickly, it's all about on who you spend it on, or were N'Dombele, Soldado, Paulhino, Chiriches and the like ( the latter all brought in one swoop) the answer to glory.

We have never, and will never buy from the very top tier, and looking for potential such as DJ, Bergvall, Gray, Udogie, Micky and a couple of seasons ago Romero is where we are and will remain at.

If anyone wants to judge a team by the size of their cheque book, then perhaps they are following the wrong club?

i'll be quite happy if it works and we get him for considerably less than what they're asking but i also think getting it done before the season starts rather than stringing it out until the end of the window just to trim a bit off the fee is something clubs who are serious about winning tend to do. what if getting him in early and bedded in means an extra 3-4 points at the business end of the season? is that worth the 3-4 million levy is going to save? serious clubs don't do business like this and again, putting pressure on the player to say things publicly is not how i would woo a player to join.

I guess it really depends more if West Ham are being serious or just fucking us about.

As much as people invent some club-hating POV, as confirmed by Jack and Bruce at the time, Villa's owners strung us (and Jack) along with that deal in 2018 whilst they were using it to push their takeover through. Not saying West Ham are necessarily under the same circs, but could be fucking us about to flirt with Saudi clubs or something.

I hope it is more a case of us not putting our eggs in one basket hoping that miss piggy will actually do something competent for once

Richy and Solanke are basically already at their ceiling right now, seeing as Richy is 28 and Solanke will turn 28 a few weeks into next season. Kudus could be one of the best wingers in the league if everything goes right for him.

People are gushing over Gyokeres like he's 21 and has a reason for being totally absent from top flight football, but 27 year old Dom is on the decline from here...

If he does want to come here, I reckon his plan is to get CL football and a guaranteed starting spot (he knows he's better than Johnson and will be an assist king). His agent will be planning his brochure for Madrid, Bayern and City over the following season.

That's fine by me. If he performs well enough to play for Madrid, then he's worth the money.

I don't know anyone who comes to mind who has come to the fore after 24.

Name 3 in the last 15 years?
Depends what you consider coming to the fore, but both Salah and Bruno Fernandes were 25 when they signed for Liverpool and United, and no one really expected them to become what they became. Internally Son stepped up during 16/17 and 17/18, over those seasons he was 24-25.

At 24 a lot of players are still maturing into the players they’ll end up being, even if it’s small amounts.
