Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We must’ve withdrawn our bid for MGW as it’s clearly going nowhere currently.

Either we’ve been scared into pulling out or we’re revisiting later in the window. But if the player isn’t kicking up a fuss and happy to play along then he can’t be that desperate to move either at the moment.
I've noticed quite a few Spurs are after Xavi Simons articles today.

An absolute freak on the internet found out that MGW's wife has started liking beauty salons in London.

Pre-internet Earth was so much better than this.
Women too!

I don’t see us signing MGW, we needed to sign him quickly after we triggered the clause. Now other clubs know about it and we have lost the element of surprise, Forest will be touting him to other clubs and Levy will not pay more than the clause as a matter of principle.

I’d prefer MGW but I’m also a mid 30s lad who works in software development so what do I know?

FWIW MGW player all of Wolves preseason games and went on tour whilst waiting and wanting to move to Forest. I think he’s just a solid professional.
I'd prefer MGW too because he's got PL experience, it's probably wise to look at other options though, he can't be the only player that would do.

We need someone of quality for our starting 11. Ideally a cm for me. Perhaps we will have to wait until we've moved a couple on but I hope we can get MGW as 60m is a great price and he has alot of attributes we lack.

Complete different player but this team is screaming out for a banega. Remember him? What a player!

There's always a time lag between what's actually going on and what's in the public domain. I'd be surprised if this deal isn't already pretty much agreed and that we're allowing a choreographed set of circumstances play out so all sides can emerge with a 'win'.

Maybe, for example, Forest wanted MGW to force the transfer in some way to save face with their fans; they also needed a bit of breathing space to line up replacement options. MGW didn't want to force the transfer without saying 'goodbye', hence his participation (and farewell?) in yesterday's pre-season friendly. For our part, we lubricated the deal a little.

Speculation, of course, but I'm an optimist!

I wouldn't mind letting Vuskovic have a crack at the DM position. Kid looks like he could play anywhere.
If you’re going to play the lad out of position then put him upfront for the last 15 minutes of a game as he seems to have an Eye for goal.
Poch did make Dier a DM from being a centre back and he did look good but was prone to the really bad poor pass that exposed us. I’d want him to get upto scratch a a centre back first and with all the games scheduled we’ll need him and I think he looks too good to loan out.
