Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We need someone of quality for our starting 11. Ideally a cm for me. Perhaps we will have to wait until we've moved a couple on but I hope we can get MGW as 60m is a great price and he has alot of attributes we lack.

Complete different player but this team is screaming out for a banega. Remember him? What a player!
100%. We are still very short on quality and MGW isn’t enough

According to Ben Jacobs.

''Jacobs said on Last Word on Spurs: “Kaishu Sano, who is at the Bundesliga side Mainz, is another player that Tottenham really like. He’s an extremely combative number six who is capable of moving between the lines, winning aerial duels, but a bit like Moises Caicedo, is a very progressive passer, who you sort of see a lot of underrated attacking qualities about. He’s not just your standard engine room and ball winner. He’s also very good at, after he’s won it, getting his head up and working out where there’s an incisive pass to be played. And that’s why he is so effective playing in a counterattacking side. That’s also maybe another name to watch.”

We must’ve withdrawn our bid for MGW as it’s clearly going nowhere currently.

Either we’ve been scared into pulling out or we’re revisiting later in the window. But if the player isn’t kicking up a fuss and happy to play along then he can’t be that desperate to move either at the moment.

Not necessarily true, but maybe for now ww are content to stare Forest out.

The clause has apparently been met, Forest haven't formally complained, and the player may correctly and not as yet feel inclined to submit a transfer request, which loses him loyalty payments.

As for other clubs coming in and offering more, well that's stupid on their part, but maybe what Levy/we are waiting for, because only an idiot would offer much more than a clause which clearly articulates the selling club's valuation of their asset. In addition and this has been said, who of the CL clubs need him in the way we do?

And if Forest continue with their position, it Iis then more than possible that Gibbs-White, form and fitness allowing, leaves for free in less than 2 years, and from hereon in, his value diminishes in terms if what clubs will be prepared to pay.

I'm reserving my judgment until I've seen him play for 6 months under Frank.
Which is completely fair and reasonable

I just don't see it , I don't see any one outstanding attribute, there's nothing there that makes me think this guy could be something special at some point with coaching

Hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it and it certainly wasn't what we need right now as a squad but that's not his fault

I don’t see us signing MGW, we needed to sign him quickly after we triggered the clause. Now other clubs know about it and we have lost the element of surprise, Forest will be touting him to other clubs and Levy will not pay more than the clause as a matter of principle.

Does anyone even care anymore?

The whole story with the legal crap is soul-destroyingly boring.

Never seen a potentially exciting transfer story so effectively neutered
