Bullshit lmao, you have so many footballers who play in to their late thirties/forties when their bodies are literally breaking down (Suarez!!!) because they love the sport so much, even when fabulously wealthy and they could do many other things in the sport. Why are you comparing it to a normal job? Nobody dreams of sitting in an office as a kid, footballers got that good because it was a passion..

There are work elements to it and I'm sure they want a break and it gets tiring but the good ones love and live it and its as much a passion as a job .. loads of footballers obsess/spend free time on football as well.
Plenty of footballers play late into their 30s because they've spanked their money and, even if they have some, they can't make that sort of money (even at a lower club or overseas) anywhere else.

And plenty of professional athletes do not like their sport. I played American football with a guy who has a pair of Super Bowl rings - never liked football and quit twice in school...he was just fast, talented, and knew it was a ticket to a vastly better life than anything else he could pursue.

Sonny's father was notoriously demanding and pushed him into the sport and continued to push him for years. There's a pretty strong chance he sees it as an obligation.

Also, we're working from the assumption that you're a body language expert and he was actually unhappy. That's far from guaranteed, as well.

Thanks for clarifying all the facts of the situation. It is great to have a great discussion based on facts.

Keep coping fellas. For a fan base that doesn't particularly like your owner, it's amazing how he can do no wrong.
Yes Levy is not that well liked in the fanbase but he does tend to act carefully and stay within the rules. But anyway you don't know if Levy has done anything wrong on this occasion, as you keep saying, it's not discussions that have occurred publicly. You don't seem to be able to heed your own advice and not discuss what you don't know.

Spurs had a medical booked for the player, so if they didn't activate the clause nor get approval from the club - the dispute is clear.
The "violation" in that moment would be clear, but not the fact that this saga is still running on.

Forest have been (understandably) leaking their arguments to the media extensively throughout this thing, and not once has there been a whisper of a fact which, if true, would totally resolve everything: "Spurs bid did not activate the release clause"

BTW it's worth noting that this club are a bunch of Karen's, they complain about everything. They complained to UEFA about Palace, they complained to Sky about Gary Neville, they complained to the PGMOL about refereeing in the Everton and Bournemouth matches, they complained to the Premier League about a goal scored by Ivan Toney ffs
Firstly, half of those are not true. And the ones that are true, we were complaining about we got completely shafted over.

Maybe think independently & don't just believe everything you are fed.

I, nor do any Forest fans really care what people think about us when we feel our club is getting shafted. Maybe your owner should have the same passion for the club.

Correct, I don't know that & at the same time you guys don't know that Forest have done anything. That is the point with this thing, there is a lack of facts because most of it comes down to contract law. The facts that we know are Spurs bid, booked a medical - then Forest ceased all contact & complained to the Premier League.

There wasn't even any reports there was any clauses in MGW's contract before this whole thing even came about.

If you don't care about what people think about your club then why the fuck are you on here protesting about your club acting as if you can do no wrong?

In terms of this deal it's pretty simple what happened, Spurs matched the clause, you guys were initially happy to let him go hence the why he was booked in for a medical then your fat cunt of an owner threw his toys out the pram.

There is nothing to say Levy has ignored anything. I am a Levy Out person so I have no reason to defend him. If Levy put a £60m release clause in a contract and I thought it was way to low I would be pissed off with Levy for putting it there in the first place but not in a million years would I expect Levy break a release clause. He is many things but he wouldn’t flagrantly break a contract.

Forest complaint is ‘tapping up’ and which is how every single team in the league includes your builds squads as Simon Jordan a former owner talks about. You speak to the agent who asks the player are you willing to come. If the agent tells the club yes then Spurs speak to Forest to speak with the player. The gray area is speaking with the agent but that is now how most transfers work. Athletico Madrid speak with our Romero all the time asking him to come, we ain’t taking Atletico Madrid to court. Regarding the release clause if the agent informs us of it that is the agents issue not ours, they have any NDA, we don’t.

Clearly there was a trigger of the release clause as it was confirmed you allowed a medical. That wouldn’t happened without agreement. Everyone knows your owner is a wild man. So why would an agreed transfer suddenly stop. Why would a triggered release clause suddenly not work. Just as Levy is known for lowballing transfer offer so your Greek guy is known for throwing toys out of the pram.

Maranakis is throwing a tantrum and just like when toddlers do it, we are ignoring him.

Hopefully he won’t reach the stage of throwing his own faeces at people…

So the owner was happy to let him go then 5 minutes later decided he wasn't & threw his toys out the pram. What logic you are bringing to the conversation. The medical was booked as the bid went in, not when the bid was accepted.

Which is also code for he is seemingly not attracting or not interested in going elsewhere, or to certain clubs who may have expressed some keenness.

I like the player, and whilst Mikey Moore is likely to end up on loan,to learn his trade, I think this would be a really good signing for us.

Not a priority position, but unquestionably a good player in my opinion.

If Son leaves, he should be an option.

Well but that's consistent with the reporting that Forest had been attempting to maintain confidentiality around that clause

I think that people need to accept that it was probably us that fucked up and not their nutter owner.
The explanation that makes the most sense to me is that MGW did in fact knowingly breach the confidentiality of his release clause, given the timing perhaps out of frustration with Elanga getting the move up to CL club that MGW had wanted.

That still leaves questions unanswered but it's a more complete and parsimonious explanation than anything else I can think of.

Some reports have stated we booked him in for a medical without Forests permission (which I don't believe tbh).

The fact is, nobody really knows if he was actually booked in for a medical, if he had a medical, if Forest were happy with the offer initially, if their owner jumped in etc etc.

I do not believe we would be as silent as we are had we simply activated a release clause (including the exact terms of the release clause) and Forest agreeing to him coming down for a medical.

All you have to do is read and engage your brain a little, this was on the Thursday when the news of the deal broke:

Talks are ongoing between the two clubs but Tottenham do not anticipate any issues.

You'll be amazed to know that clubs just can't take players for medicals if there's no prior contact or verbal agreement with their parent club, what do you think we did, rang up Gibbs White and his agent and told them to come to the training ground because we know what the release clause is? That's not how it works mate lol

Thursday the deal was going through, Friday you did a complete 360, someone fucked up your end.
