This is why the FA would be extremely worried about a case like this going to court I’d imagine. Their rules would seem to contradict employment contract law. If a player in MGW’s position took the club and the FA to court I reckon he would win and the FA would be seen as in breach of contract law.
No way would the FA want such a situation to occur. Of course as you said by the time it got sorted the window would be closed and 5hen the player may even challenge that.

As for the MGW case I have a new theory, and it’s mine, and it belongs to me ahem ahem ahem. My theory on MGW, which is mine, ahem ahem…. The theory on MGW and Marinakis’ refusal to release the player, which is my theory ahem ahem…..

Decency has nothing to do with it (if he and his camp have done nothing wrong).

If everything was above board and Spurs have come in and met the release clause MGW has every right to kick up a fuss.

Not even the most brain dead of Forest fans could have anything to complain about.

In this case the silence is deafening.

He obviously stood out including keeping Salah quiet in the League Cup win 1st leg.

Saying he was the best of a bad bunch is harsh, there were calls for him to get an England call up at the time and he was actually playing well.

I expect him to push on this season.
 
Newcastle owners are worth $600bn+

They can ask for whatever they want for Isaak and have zero need to accept less. They can afford to replace him without selling him and, if he doesn't act professionally, they can literally disregard him.

Might even make him disappear, who knows.

I still think the Tel signing carries a question mark in terms of where (if not why)....... Something that depends of Frank's vision for him and the line-up (Ditto what Kulu's future looks like).

If we're to play 4231; I'd prefer to see him take Richy's role in the squad as back-up ST and emergency LW and use the proceeds of Rich & Son's sales to help fund a first XI ready LW. Leaving us with something like:

RW: Kudus (Johnson / Kulu)
ST: Solanke (Tel / Lankshire /Scarlett)
LW: [ New ] (Odobert / Moore)

All that said; my first choice would be 352; in which case a front 2 of:

Kudus (Johnson / Lankshire) / Solanke (Tel / Scarlett)

......With Odo, Kulu, Moore fighting it out for AM duties.
