Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Paqueta just got off his FA charges. I don’t rate him that highly but we will probably be linked with him now.

BTW there’s a lot of you here that need to drop and give me 10

How about 3-4 seasons? How badly do you want him out?
what i don't want more than anything is to continue on the path we're on now. it's utterly demoralizing. i want a club that tries to compete and win things not line their pockets with our money.

there can be no doubt now. enic wanted to build a stadium and get rich, not compete in athletic competition. mgw hostage videos? we're the fucking hostages and half the fanbase have picked up a gun and are fighting for our captors now. we're patty fucking hearst at this point

Ok, so those are the quotes I needed, he’s clearly referencing an approach to buy MGW there.

In which case, we have fucked this transfer up. However you want to cook it, we’ve attempted a method to get the player and it’s failed.

Either we didn’t do enough to persuade MGW not to sign that contract, or we tried to do it behind the owners back and underestimated him,

Either way, he’s got that smug grin because he’s won and it’s true, he has.
What I don't understand is why the Spurs (and wider) mouthpieces were saying for 2 weeks that we were still confident of the deal being done.

The only explanation is that Levy genuinely thought he had the upper hand and this would work out for us. And that's hugely worrying.

The guy is out of touch and the laughing stock of the rest of the footballing fraternity.

That is a good question and those “Spurs are still confident “ briefs to friendly media made me suspicious of how hard we were really trying.

Either we are out of touch and clueless to be that confident, or we were being dishonest about how hard we were trying in the first place

We are a million miles away from the top 5 clubs. It's a massive worry how Manchester united sign players that are very good and we won the European cup and seem to go nowhere.
The seeds of this have been building for years, but it really is shocking how uncompetitive our business has become relative to the top of the league.

We don't belong on the same pitch as Liverpool, especially if they get Isak, and (thanks partially to our bizarre hoodoo over Pep) it was Sir Alex's United the last time it felt like that was the case.

The Notts Forest determined to keep the player and pay a wage on a 3 year contract that nobody would want to pay on a longer term 5 year contract.

You can criticise player and his agent, and their integrity, for tying him to Forest for another year or two before he gets sold. But both get a huge financial reward

Nothing to do with how spurs are run.

And no other PL club tried to hijack the deal which tells you that Forest applied the right measure of carrot and stick to keep player - otherwise losing both Elanga and MGW left them very vulnerable to being in relegation area
Forest have told Gibbs White they will not sell him to Spurs under any circumstances.

They've then offered him a pay rise to stay for an extra year protecting his transfer value to Forest.

Time will tell if Spurs have missed out on a top player or dodged a bullet but we look cunts either way.

Cheers Levy.
