I like the Palhinha loan deal, but still think we need at least one more player in.

Fortunately we still have the Morgan Gibbs-White money to spend.

That's £60m isn't it Daniel? Daniel? Daniel?

True, but surely Palinha isn't being signed to play against low blocks, surely he's being signed to give us a tough destroyer for games when we don't have as much possession - the top EPL sides, the top CL sides etc. I'd be surprised if he started against the lower quality low block teams. For me this is Frank doing Frank - assembling a variety of completely different options for different situations.
I really hope so, but knowing this club, we aren’t paying his whole wage packet just so he can be a “squad player”.

Well, even without other signings, having Maddison, Kulu, Bergvall, Bentancur, Sarr, Donley, Biss (for now at least), plus posiibly Kudus and Gray if they get any games in any sort of CM position, would mean that I doubt Palinha will play most games. It doesn't work like that any more anyway, it's a squad game, with different solutions used to solve different problems. I expect that will be especially true for Frank, and personally I wouldn't be remotely surprised if we see Palinha regularly start one game then not even be on the bench for the next (if it's a totally different level and/or style of opponent).

I guess time will tell. :)

I think we still make at least three more signings:

- versatile forward to replace Richarlison/Son
- left back to challenge Udogie
- attacking midfielder

I still think Romero will leave as well, we are still being linked to players like Guehi, Zabarnyi etc which makes no sense if he’s staying.

I would say upgrading Richy is the highest priority, much more so than signing competition for Udogie, as I worry where the goals will come from. Spence can play LB very well, we also have Davies for emergencies (not a disaster tucked in as a 3rd CB), or VDV can play there and Danso / Vuskovic / Takai comes into the side at LCB. If we did buy then Robinson at Fulham brings the sort of competitive edge and aggression Frank will want in his team.

It seems to me that Son will be off as soon as the tour is finished. I personally think Romero looks very happy, and has been posting positive things about the team and club in recent days on social media (about the upcoming season - "we're all together etc."). I also think Frank will announce Romero as his captain before the PSG game.

Another attacking midfielder would be fantastic. It's a shame about MGW as he was perfect - a hybrid 8/10 who is creative, quick, can pass, can dribble, and is also hard working. Cannot think of anyone similar. Although the closest is probably Xavi Simons (not quite as hard working and more of a 10). The lad at Leicester looks good too. If we do sign one then surely that ends the first team hopes of Donley for another season.
