Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

El Khannouss is a very good player. I saw him play in Belgium too. Upgrade on Kulu as a 10.

If we could get him and a LW like Leao or Fofana then I would be pleased.
Behave... he's bang average. Genk pulled Leicester's pants down by getting 17m for him. If we drop 25m then we might as well wave the white flag now. Leicester were shit last season and this guy was a contributing factor to that. I'd love to know what data has been used to identify a player who struggled in the PL last season as a viable option this season. Plus he fucks off for a month in Jan to sit on the bench for Morocco in the ACN. This will be a new low for Levy if this is our ambition.

I think the data behind it is Leicester have to sell, he's cheap and we're desperate.

I dont see anything there at all, looks completely average. Would have rather given Donley the game time.

Newcastle having a terrible transfer window. Especially if Isak also leaves.

Both Newcastle and us have CL football and yet players still choosing to play for Man Utd. Their legacy of winning trophies 20 years ago still counts for a lot, the current crop of players likely saw them winning and supported them. They still have a huge fan base that will keep coming and they pay top wages to their players and happy to furlough their tealady to do it.
Consistently winning trophies attracts people to your club eventually, almost future proofing it. You then have a fan base to build a bigger organisation where you can pay top wages to attract the best talent.

Having said all that and this may be contradictory but I don't think people should overlook what Man Utd are doing in terms of spending this money on players and letting ordinary local staff go to save a bit of cash elsewhere. We all know there's no ethics in football but it's getting worse by the day.

On a side note where are United getting all this money from? They haven't sold anyone of interest for big money recently as far as I know.
Just because we beat them in the Europa final, I do not see why so many are comparing us to them. MU have always been the biggest English club worldwide and players even from abroad supported them as a child and so would choose them. Their trophy haul over the last 50 years dwarfs ours.

I mean we need more but Kudus and Palhinha are '2 top players that are ready now', are they not?

I think they would qualify yes. But since then son has left and maddison is buggered. Perhaps I could have phrased my thoughts better there.

Partner that with palhinha being a loan ehich saves on transfer fee, it seems very underwhelming.

In my mind I thought even with being sensible and sustainable we would easily be able to buy 3 x 60-70m players. Not young ones that need alot of work but finished articles.

I come on this thread to read about potential transfers and not discussions on comparisons with past teams or constant insults to Levy. There are so many posts on here I have to skip most as soon as I realise it is not about a possible transfer. As Levy pointed out in the recent video, he does not get involved until the Technical team suggest a name. It is not down to Levy if we do not have a back up target following the recent failed purchase. To have got that far there must be 60m available and hopefully it will get spent.
Please keep this thread about potential transfers and not other matters.
Just follow Sky Sports News if you want to only hear about Spurs transfers. I'll go one better, just switch on an hour before the window closes. Nothing will happen until then.

Its money. Ffp doesnt apply to them, city, chelscum or woolwich. Just us according to levy

Maddison is the one we didn't plan on obviously. Son says he told the club in June. That's prob why they made Tel permanent quickly.

My thoughts at the start of the window was 2 or 3 experienced signings, with Frank working with some additional youngsters to back up/supplement the squad.

Lots of youngsters have gone on loan though, with the rumour of more left to place out at clubs.

Think that'll leave us short squad-wise so I'm confident we'll get more signings. Whether they'll be of the standard to please the TFC brain trust we'll have to see.

They are not. West Ham not bothered Kudus has gone and Palhinha is good but not a top player. Top players don't come to Spurs on loan. They would have suitors from top clubs. Neither of these additions move the dial and with Son gone, Maddison fucked we are arguably worse than last season. Frank has been fucked over and once again, it's going to get very toxic very quickly...

Does that mean Frank knew Sonny was leaving when he took the job? Same as Ange knew H was leaving.
