Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For me excitement lies in your attacking capabilities.

We've gone from Kane and Son to Richy and Johnson. I can't get excited by that.

It's the first time in my life that I don't get to watch at least 1 elite/world class forward at Spurs.
I gave you a sad smiley because its True, and its Sad!!!!!
I like Johnson , he is a good squad player, but we don't have that Elite attacker now , our best hope is Mickey Moore smashes it in Scotland and comes back next season as the Son replacement, or somehow my eyes have been deceiving me and Tel is going to become a good signing, however I sometimes Forget how young Tel is, maybe he should have been sent to Scotland with MM as well.

The same will happen to Frank unless we pull in 3 top signings before the window closes
1. Ring Atletico, tell them they can have Romero for 60mil & Bentancur for 20...but we get Oblak for 5 (Lille get Kinsky for 10) and Gallagher for 25

2. Give Fulham 30mil + Biss for Robinson

3. Give Palace that 70mil we got in the safe from last Jan for Guehi...and send Drag to them for 15-20 mil next Jan

4. Ring Bilbao, put MGW's 60mil + 40 new mil on the table for Nico Williams...loan Tel out, release Bryan Gil, let Leeds have Solomon for 10 mil

5. Get PSG on the blower and ask about a loan with option to buy for Gonçalo Ramos...drive Richy to the middle of the Mojave desert, blindfold & hogtie him, drive away

* Not necessarily in that order

Son's replacement should have been signed under Ange.

The #1 importance of a window is it's subsequent impact.

This window isn't even over yet; let alone revealed its impact yet.
True, but to use an educational analogy, whilst the #1 importance to a student is the grade they achieve in an exam, they know that the more revision they do in preparation for that exam, the better their chances of achieving a higher grade. Given our league performance over the last season and a half, it feels like we should have had a clear 'revision' plan mapped out long ago... instead, it looks like we're trying to do a bit of last minute cramming.

Tottenham shop for players like I shop for clothes.
I wouldn't pay £60 for a £60 hoodie.
But it was £160 reduced to £60 I'm all over it.

But I don't run a football club, I just make sure I don't do a Leeds every month before I get paid.

Our transfer data lead strategy consists of - Does the player/club meet any of these conditions, tick any that are applicable:-

1. Is the player under 21?
2. Does the player have less than or approaching final 12 months of contract?
3. Do they have a release clause?
4. Are the players club in desperate need of money?
5. Does the players club owe us any money for previous transfers to deduct from transfer?
6. Will the player accept less than 100k or fit within our wage structure?

Priority list would be, the more yes’s to the above regardless of need of position.

Actually, with Son, Kulu and Madisson out we will need to find 33 goals and 34 assists from elsewhere. So probably closer to 75% of goal threat lost.

Johnson is not a player who creates his own chances, so without supply, his goal tally will be non-existent.

So, the only create player on the pitch will be Porro - who in Franks system will be playing less attacking.

Frank will be gone by the 2nd international break unless he somehow comes up with a system that works.

I know, I know...turn off Football Manager, stay off them crystals etc etc.

But imagine that squad.

GK: Oblak, Vicario, Austin
RB: Porro, Spence
CB: Danso & Guehi as starters, Vusko/Micky/Ben as backups
LB: Robinson, Udogie
DM: Palhinha, Archie
CM: Gallagher, Sarr, Bergvall
AM: Kudus, Madders, Devine
RW: Brennan, Deki
LW: Nico, Odobert
CF: Ramos, Solanke, Dane

That's how you finish in the top 4, make it to the CL quarters and win the FA Cup.

And that's absolutely not ludicrous to imagine a squad like that at a club like Spurs.

We knew Kulu was fucked and we knew Son was leaving.
Madders has always been a crock and now he's done for the season.

The league season starts in a week. Where are the attacking reinforcements?

In is fully panic stations right now and Frank is still talking in riddles rather than speaking honestly.

3 transfers that I think are realistic and would improve us overnight
Guehi
Wissa
MaAtee/Paz/Elliot

Not asking for superstars here but If we don't do something like this it will be a long season imo
