palhinha sitting in front of an already good back 4 too, exciting times indeed.
The most exciting part is that Frank is working with much better defenders than he did at Brentford, in a world cup winner and some experienced, solid defenders.

I think we will be a very disciplined side this season, in terms of keeping clean sheets just based on how pragmatic Frank sets us up and the quality this side possesses.

The only concerning factor is lack of firepower but that can be fixed quite easily by bringing in both Eze and Savio.

Richarlison and Solanke in form can be lethal and are massive nuisances inside the box, including our defenders as seen against a physically inept PSG side.

Savio can beat players, whilst Eze can provide that fluidity and creativity needed to fill Maddisons role.

If we DO make those signings, we should all feel very confident for the season barring injuries.

Other clubs aren't interested in a wasteman like Bissouma who's routinely late to training, and it's an AFCON season. Shocked I tell you!

If we have to offload him for not a lot of money, so be it.

A few clubs are known to have enquired. Shame we didn't offload him after his first season - he seems to have been bought to meet a requirement of Conte who phrased Bissouma's efforts as 'unable to understand his instructions on style od play and training' (or similar wording) which is why Bissouma didn't play much in his first year at Spurs.

Like Ndombele he might have good technical skills but if his heart isn't in it (or cannot be bothered to exert himself = lazy ? and inconsistent ) ...... he's never going to be the player we need.

yea, the most important ingredient is frank himself. looks to be a proper football person.

You must not watch a lot of football.

Mbuemo, Gyokeres, Sesko - you all think were great value? Why?

Savinho has way more potential than most on that list.

People banging on about his 1 goal but he went very close many times and was unlucky not have more. Watch his highlight reel.

Also Pep’s wingers are not there to score goals. He got a bucket load of assists, as Pep sets wingers up to do.

Then look at his Girona spell - outstanding stats in a mediocre side.
Many near misses….wowee. Many assists great with Haaland up top but we’ve got Solanke and Richarlison.

Wow, I’d hate to live with your pessimism.

He played as a 20 year old last season, and had many eye catching moments.

He is a super exciting player. If you can’t get excited by the potential signing of him, you should go and support a new team.

We aren’t going to be able to buy world stars, buying such a talented and high profile youngster is a coup for us if we pull it off.

If Richarlison can stay fit and work as hard as he did last night, he would be the centre-forward that we need. Much more talent than Solanke, just injury-prone.
Unfortunately we know he cannot.

Also I think that’s a bit harsh on Solanke, Richarlison is better at attacking a ball in the air and probably a bit more dangerous running into space but Solanke’s touch and general passing/movement is consistently good.

Savinho on one wing, Kudus on the other.

Absolute nightmare fuel for defences.

Eze in the middle too is probably asking too much. It's clear that we're not allowed nice things.

If the last few seasons are anything to go by, they will all be injured after 10 games, and Frank will be expected to play Sarr as a 10 and Johnson / Odobert on the wings.....providing service to Tel up front.

:ange-facepalm:

Because Spurs needed to fill the squad with both numbers of players as well as reasonable/serviceable quality players over last 4 years - hence Solanle, Johnson, Odobert, Romero, Bentancur, many pretty decent quality with the odd slip op with inconsistent Bissouma, but for the most part a serviceable squad, albeit light on star players - and getting up to the squad size we need, So not a mistake - its called rebuilding strategy, not getting a perfect squad immediately but a decent squad as an interim.

Now we have pretty much a full squad, the next step is upgrading some of those players to a level we have not had for a few years - and we'll need to do that for a couple of years plus develop some of our youngsters with the aim that by the end of each window we have an improved squad
Reasonable/Serviceable players as an interim over 4 years? You'll have to explain that strategy to me.
Who are we Bournemouth!

Plus my point was, there can be a balance. Why can't you have 4 "star players" for xxxx, on xxx a week as well as pretty decent players along side them.

If the Savinho deal gets done, does City delay it until after we play them on the 23rd? Can’t imagine they want him returning to the Etihad with something to prove in that game.

Another 24 pages since I went to sleep. Can’t be bothered reading them all.
I have read, this morning we are looking at Danny Olmo. Gotta keep the injury, fitness and recovery room employees working. Great player but so injury prone.
I have NOT read a here we go, sadly, re Eze or Savino.

Just playing the devil’s advocate. What happens if we get Eze and he then get’s injured? There was a tactical reason Frank wanted MGW whilst we still had a fit Maddison. We won’t be getting another 10 this tw if we get Eze.
I do like where we are heading if we get the two of them. Next summer a LB, another 10 and a striker.

I’m also wondering if they are reconsidering loaning out Vusko. Frank obviously wants another CB but should we fork out around 120-130 mil for E&S, I doubt we will buy a CB. Gooeee was a bargain opportunity but he wants Liverpool and I think he might run out his contract if Liverpool don’t give CP a better offer. Then he goes there next year with a nice sign on bonus
