I think Eze playing for Palace v Chelsea today, merely exposes how little the journalists and twitterati really know about bids/transfers - no surprise as both selling and buying clubs have everything to lose by revealing their respective negotiating positions.
There is a myriad of explanations as to why Eze is playing - it could be that Palace have said to Eze
'We really want you to play for us this weekend as the player coming into replace you cannot arrive for a week. If you play for us today, we'll do everything we can to make sure your transfer to Spurs goes through in next few days, but if you don't play we can't guarantee you moving this transfer window'
I've no reason to believe the above is correct - but its certainly as credible as the stories being spread on twitter and by journalists whose own stories may well be dreamt up, just because they feel the need to say something to justify their status as a news source.
So we live in hope that Eze is announced by Spurs as a new signing sometime this week ...... but the only people who actually know what the status of negotiations actually are will not be saying anything, except if the deal is signed.
Just enjoy the window for what its become , a circus.
And believe nothing unless the club says he's signed

Palace manager wants to play his best players while he still has them shocker. To be honest if Ghuei or Eze downed tools and refused to play that would annoy me more. Only downside is the risk of potential injury.
