yes exactly the point, it has to pay off, you have to win either the league or the CL.The 100m you speak of would be nothing in terms of the potential return of that one investment
Why are you only fussed by the transfer fee?
Hes on about €6m per year atm,
We probably offer him close to €9m per year over 5 years.
Fee: €60m
Wages: €45m
Total: €105m over 5 years,
That’s €21m per year total transfer cost,
If we got him for €50m, it would be €19m per year for 5 years… not exactly a game changing difference
not sure eze is as good as a lot of people think he is. hes also at a risky age where we are going to be paying the max for him with no return other than football....there are players where that is worth it, but they have to be world class, is eze world class?
we are literally going all in on him...its risky business, he might come good and if we get him hopefully he does, but theres a decent chance he doesnt and than how long do we wait to get in this position again? weve taken a 100m gamble before with gio and ndombele and look how that turned out.
he looked good earlier, there was a few sloppy moments, but he looks good because hes in his physical prime and hes sharp and strong across the ground, that sharpness may only last 2 years, may last 4, i think once you take that away from him he struggles big time.
hes apparently a scum fan and they didnt even trigger his release clause, that must baffle a lot of people as everyone raves about him? yet his favoured destination turned their nose up at it and went for madueke instead....
I used to, Pascal Chimbonda used to rock around there in full celtic basket ball gear and a Cadillac Escalade
Eze was having a chat with a few Chelsea players, Reese and Palmer I think it was and it certainly looked like they may have been asking him as they were hiding the mouths with their hands.
Couple that and the media hype and postgame reaction of Eze I would say he thinks it’s going to happen.
Could it still end up falling apart? Absofuckinglutely!
Agree! And the point is he is only likely to be on 200k a week tops? So correct me if I'm wrong but 200k a week = 10m a year, that times 4, 4 year contract = 40m£, a fair amount away from 100m.yes exactly the point, it has to pay off, you have to win either the league or the CL.
i dont think hes good enough to warrant 100m for four years of football. you should be getting world class or very close too, hes had two good seasons at palace who havent even finished in the top half of the premier league....

Yeah of course. Funny question.
We're not putting an unproven 20 y/o on 175kpw!
....And the reported fee will need to be MORE than €70m
hes not coming on a free is he, hes going to cost 60m and by the time we are done with him he wont be worth much, so hes costing us 100m total.Agree! lets say we sign him for 60, hes going to be on 180k a week say for 4 years, youre talking nearly 100m to have eze playing for you for four years, is he that good? hell be 31 in 4 years time ands will start declining fairly quick as he relies on being physically sharp.
Yeah my bad! But even so, 25m a year in The EPL for a game changer like Eze! For me its a no brainer.hes not coming on a free is he, hes going to cost 60m and by the time we are done with him he wont be worth much, so hes costing us 100m total.
lets just hope hes as good as you think he is then.Yeah my bad! But even so, 25m a year in The EPL for a game changer like Eze! For me its a no brainer.
I think if you are insisting on world class, then we are not talking 60m + 10m a year.yes exactly the point, it has to pay off, you have to win either the league or the CL.

Well Daveyboy, I for one, right now, can't think of a better ready made, hit the ground running alternative my friend.
Eze would be a great signing. But he's not an elite signing. As his small number of international caps would indicate100m for a player that is not a guarantee to pop is a huge gamble. hence why no one triggered his release clause...
you can get rodrygo for 85m and probably 250 a week, who will be 28 in 4 years and still have big resale value if you do sell him, which makes him cheaper than eze over the next 4 years.I think if you are insisting on world class, then we are not talking 60m + 10m a year.
