Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That is total bollocks.

Spending almost seventy million on a twenty one year old that is third in the pecking order at ANY club is more than risky.

City paid forty five million for him last year, and were allegedly turning down a sixty odd million bid from us.

For a player who can't hold down a first team spot, paying over thirty million more than he cost last season is plain stupid.

More options out their.

30 million more than he cost from a sister club which means the price they paid was bollocks. He’s still very young and there’s not a lot of top tier wingers out there and he’s atleast proven he CAN play in the PL. At minimum it seems he’ll be a tricky winger who will create chances. If he continues to get better, scores goals, etc. he could be a top tier player. And again, he was 20 most of last season. Seems a reasonable fee to me. Especially because the fee is just one part it. Probably wouldn’t demand the wages of Rodrigo.

Meanwhile over in LaLa land

Significant progress has been made today. Definitely not a done deal. Horses need to be held

If we hadn’t spent £120m combined on Johnson Odobert and Tel for the LW maybe we wouldn’t be in this position, but we did.

The Tel transfer is legitimately one of the most nonsensical decisions in Premier League history. £40m for THAT, preventing us from signing real quality, awful.
It's the worst transfer in the 2020's for me. He was diabolical on loan here, so sign him permanently, for £40m all in, is criminal. Of he didn't have the loan, then it's a punt you take on a kid with that perceived potential. But when he shows up and os the worst player I've seen in a spurs jersey since probably Raziak, and you proceed to drop mega money, that's inexcusable.

He's already Deadwood and he's been permanent for what, 6/7 weeks?

Again we’re playing City this week. It’s gonna be nothing but BS until after the match.
I think the Savinho transfer is still possible. The most encouraging part of it is the "experts" online coming out of the woodwork to say it's off. If Man City entertained it up to this point that should mean there is still a price they would do the deal for. Probably not a high probability it will happen, but not off the table.
