Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Pretty stupid if they did as its cost 10m more. And Arse just aren’t about wasting money.

I think they were stringing him along as they weren't convinced he was the perfect fit as LW for them

Eze wanted them so he probably always kept them in the loop during discussions with us

He would probably have come here if he couldn't smoke Arse out but they were always his priority

I'm not disappointed about the "haggling" (probably wouldn't have changed anything), I'm disappointed we went into negotiations without having him signing iConsent first. I thought we started these late conversations because we were absolutely sure Arse were out of picture. We got played, and how silly we look to the whole world now

Tel was a daft buy. Another frankly desperate “buy him because they will deal with me” purchase by Levy

Suppose that £30m plus wages had been there for Eze and Savinho ?

The pressure on Tel to come good immediately is now overwhelming. The kid was getting pelters before - imagine what it's gonna be like when he inevitably has to lead the line after we get a few injuries.

Maddison and Kulusevski are injured and we are actively trying to sell Bissouma. We were also open to selling both Richarlsion and Bentancur for most of the summer if a suitable offer came in.

Romero, Porro and VDV are the only players you mentioned who are probably good enough to play for title winning teams and I feel like they could easily waist their careers here now because we aren't backing the team to be competitive now.

That is a different discussion, obviously.

The statement was that most of the players we buy are going to be ready in 5 years.

It wasn't a discussion about the quality of the players.

We don’t pay enough in wages to be in the mix for the title and pay the lowest %of revenue as wages in the PL

We remain 4-5 elite players short. And no surprise that our wage bill is that much behind our rivals who have the same / lower revenue.

I dont think anyone really knows what they mean by elite, and it's often retrospective.

I understand the tone of the argument but nobody really knows how good most players are or will become or how they will gel and perform within any given team. Salah's development for example was off the scale.

If Woolwich lose a few games, suddenly the players who are so-called elite are sh!t and vice versa. Nobody but nobody saw Liverpool winning the title last season, with the players who fell so short the season before, and only one barely played recruit in Chiesa.

I agree our squad, like 15 or 16 other squads could not win the title this season, but it is an absolute crock of hot stuff to say we need 4 or 5 elite players. We need a couple maybe, who stay fit abd drag up the belief and the confidence for a whole season. Same for 3 or 4 others, but it's a tall order.

We need to be objectively competitive, and the model needs to improve to ensure we are more than less likely to be in that category each and every season. Then you havea better chances of success.

Everton had to sell for FFP, Solanke had a clause and no one else really interested, Forest are still financially fucked, Wet Spam are skint and Bissouma was running out of contract so was cheap(!) and also fucking bang average for 5 out of 6 games.

I thought you were just a fucking clown about Ange.

Mate - I have always known you are just a rude prick about everything.

You either didn't read the message I was replying to, or you didn't understand it. Either way..... thanks for the attempted input.

As it stands right now, If we want to play a #10, its between Bergvall, Bentancour, Tel and Odobert. Doesn´t seem like a "we will win both the Premier League and the Champions League" - scenario..

I’ve seen nothing from him to suggest he can be elite. Odobert actually looks better. I think we are now clearly at the stage where other clubs are enjoying humbling the clown of N17. The great deal maker himself! Not a good position for the club to be in. I won’t spend a dime on a club run like that.

Havertz knee injury is only 6 - 12 weeks.

They didn’t move for Eze because of the injury, it was always the plan. At this stage I honestly believe they set the hijack up on purpose as a power play. They saw an opportunity to humiliate their rivals and thought why not.
Regardless of if this is true or not it at the very least is humiliating. You would hope Levy & co. Would feel the same, go out, and make a few statement signings in response. But we all know it’ll be a meek tail between our legs effort at best.

The more I think about it, I think we should take El Khannouss away from Palace. I just don’t see these big money longshot moves for Paz or Akliouche making sense. They are both more ball carriers than passers.

Just feel we could get far more out of taking a chance on El Khannouss and having someone in the side who can spray the ball around off both feet. Would open up so many more avenues for attacking and we’d see the other players flourish.
We’re just wasting our time going for Paz or Akliouche, neither will move from their respective clubs at this stage in the window.

Worst of all outcomes is Dibling for £50m

Levy will want to bring Kane back next summer. In his head it will be good for revenue and a “statement” signing. And Bayern will do business with him.

Best case next summer I should say. More likely 27

Rubbish. They don’t create that risk

There was no risk if they were in touch with Eze and his agents the whole time and Eze wanted Woolwich above all else.

There was a streamer who showed a message from Eze over a week ago when we were first in talks with palace basically saying “don’t worry about all the noise about Spurs he’s going to Woolwich.”

This wasn’t a last minute decision by Woolwich, they literally mugged us off, waited for us to get a deal agreed and then they just moved in and humiliated us. Woolwich chief executive is good mates with parish, they WhatsApp each other all the time.

Very naive to think this sort of shit doesn’t happen on purpose. They mugged us off, it is what it is.

Look at Woolwich's options in defensive midfield, Rice, Norgaard, Zubimendi.

We have Palhinha, what happens if he get's injured?

We don't even have two good players in every position.

They are miles ahead of us.

Again, no one said they aren't - but even with that, look at their options there last season.

Rice - Partey at a push.

They didn't sort every position on the pitch in one season. In fact, and we have done this before.

The core spine of their team pre Rice, the team that was built that finished 2nd, the first season they did under Arteta cost PENNIES. Gabriel, Saliba, Martilnelli, Odeggard, cost nothing - i mean the most expesive player they had in that team was probably Ben White.

They wasted a tonne of money on shite for years. They may have sorted themselves out now somewhat, but it was done over 4/5 years.

And they still only have one, completely unproven prem quality striker - decent but hardly world beating wing cover - no proven quality CB cover for Saliba or Gabriel.

Levy would be so proud mate. You keep plugging away.

The narrative is slowly shifting to the problem being Daniel Levy. Not Spurs or Kane or A N Other manager. It’s him.

We pay decent money. To say we don't is a fallacy, created in the minds of those who live in an anti-Levy world.

We beed to pay maybe more for the highest quality but players, like standard workers need to deserve their excessive wages.

What we need more than anything is to target the right players at the right time.

The likes of Eze, Isak, Bowen to an extent, to name but 3, we'e hardly bust the bank purchases when bought initially.

It's a mixture.
Dibbling will probably end up being the Eze, Bowen type player but the fans don’t want to know. I can sort of understand it as we don’t mix those kind of signings with off the shelf type. He’ll be one we look back on with regret as well I reckon
