Frank said something like we couldn’t play through phase one and two. We are forced away from the strengths of our forwards because our midfield had zero ball progression. And to make matters worse, we didn’t even win midfield duels.

He said on the offensive side we struggled to find solutions to get through phase one and 2. Essentially we couldn't progress the ball from the defensive structure through to attack.

Watching the game it was clear that johnson and richy were terrible at retaining the ball and having any impact. We couldn't make it stick to muster any kind of attack.

He also said we struggled defensively with balls over the top and winning duels in the middle of the park and I completely agree. As I said the midfield 3 was wrong balance we did need more mobility you're right. Sarr in with palhinha and bergvall at 10 we would of faired much better but we still would not of.layed a glove on them the way richy and brennan played.
They just put 2 or 3 on kudus and nullified him or gave him too much to do.

Thats why priority should be a lw and if we get that with simons things will be a hell of alot better.

Either way, I dont think we will see a game like we did yesterday again. This season we will beat big teams and drop points against mid table teams imo

Gallagher might not be a priority area, which I think is striker and left side of midfield, but we must improve the squad level, and for me Gallagher would add two things.

Experience and a sense of leadership. He would also bring energy

Not a priority but not to be declined if it could be done. I suspect it's his agent talking.

Gallagher will help with our press but he’s yet another player who isn’t very good at progressing the ball forward or retaining possession under pressure.

He is a very basic player technically. Good engine and can pop up with a goal.

Yeah because we had to go long to Richy and Johnson. They are poachers that’s not what they are best at, especially when Bournemouth planned for that perfectly and had a spare man to jump them as soon as the direct ball went to them.

If our CM was able to progress the ball through the press, then we’d have had the spare man with Johnson running behind and Richy on the end of crosses.

You can blame Richy and Johnson for not being good hold up players but that’s not what they are there to do.

Break the bank for Semenyo is my view, he is better than Savinho and would better suit Franks system.

£70 million would probably do it
It absolutely wouldn't - please don't do it to yourself, he signed a new contract a month ago and isn't leaving in this window

I think Simons will play off the left a lot so there is perhaps space for someone to come in centrally

Am hoping that the stalemate with city might ease and we get Savinho last minute but on balance I'd be surprised if we brought anyone significant in now. Wouldn't mind a loan for Gallagher if we could get Gray a good loan as he's the future and needs good quality minutes somewhere
