Yeah, have to agree.
It would have been very good window if we would have everything in place compared to last season (ok, with exception of Son leaving - I think time was right and it was always on the cards). But considering that -
- Bissouma has no place in the squad anymore
- Madders will be missing most of the season and Kulu return date later than one could have hoped for
- We shipped out all of the youngsters who could walk (only exceptions being Bergvall and Gray who got lot of minutes last season too)
We should have done more with incomings.
One more CM with creativity and passing range + one more defender, preferably versatile for fullback and CB too.
Right now I do feel that if we want to play 4-3-3 we are lacking one creative passer until Kulu is coming back. And if we want to be able to use back 3 at times we do not have any realistic options whenever one CB gets injured (at least until Dragusin is back from injury). Plus back 3 puts lot of focus on fullbacks, which we lack.
My question is - why wouldn't we keep just Donley and Vuskovic for example ?!? Loaning them would be OK if we brought on more players. But we did not... so again... extremely reactive and inconsistent.
If everything stays the way it is it is 7,5/10 window at best. Add Paqueta + Akanji and it would have been 9,5.
You can't just make players good, unfortunately. Our left side is a disgrace.
Concerned we’re not going to get adequate width on the left side in attack there. Both Muani and Simons want to drift inside. Spence as a right footed player will also be more inside and Udogie is limited in attack.
Interesting if true... if so, maybe he gambled on some sort of deal being struck and didn't want to stranded in Italy as the deadline passed.

You could swap out Odobert for Johnson or even Richarlison.
We definitely need a LW but I'd rather try again for Savinho in January or identify someone else.
It's a shame though because we could be out of multiple comps by January but hopefully we have enough to see us through.

Yeah LW is still a concern but it least in Muani we should have a much more reliable threat than we currently do.

Udogie has not offered anything going forward for solid 12 months now... and even though it is more defensive version, still fullbacks need to push upward.

CB & LWB position being left, not ideal, but we can get away with it. LW was the one we really needed, even with Kulu coming back. In my mind we have decent starting x11 (with okay back-up) on paper at least in every position bar the LW - Neither Johnson, Tel, Solomun, or Oderbert is at a level where they should be in a starting 11 - Kulu maybe but i don't think he will suit Franks system in tha position...so thats where the biggest gap lies
That being said, when most of the players return, if you can't get at least get back into the top half of the table with this squad then you are a useless manager
