Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hopefully that ends any type of future deals with Palace. We never should have gotten that far into it with them..parish has done us yet again. Let's hope we can still move Solomon on, he must know he ain't getting game time now

We have some serious offensive options now. Pick 1 x CAM, 2 x WFs and 1 x CF. No duplicates...
  • CAMs (1 from): Maddison, Simons, Kudus, Kulusevski, Odobert, Bergvall, Sarr
  • WFs (2 from): Odobert, Kudus, Simons, Kulusevski, Muani, Tel
  • CFs (1 from): Solanke, Richarlison, Muani
We might not see this combination for a while, but it will really excite me when we do ...

Solanke
Muani -- Simons -- Kudus

... as would (longer wait) ...

Muani
Simons --- Maddison --- Kudus

... but suspect we'll see this first ...

Richarlison
Odobert --- Simons --- Kudus

All the talk of investment, and it’s the same £120m net spend as the last few seasons. Nothing will ever change with Levy around.
Not sure you realise how impressive a year-on-year Net spend of £120M is.

Our main problem is we do not recuperate enough from sales, and are terrible at cashing in on players. For example, Brennan Johnson's stock will never be higher, and we should have looked to get £50-60M for him this summer to fund an earlier-in-the-window move for Savinho.

Overall a 9/10 from me, very happy with the signings. Real shame we our outgoings but that is the way with Levy.

It’s definitely too soon to accurately rate the window. But you can certainly rate our methods and process. And for me it’s a 0/10

Every single deal we did this summer basically fell into our lap. We are extremely fortunate West Ham needed money. Palhinha didn’t fit Kompany’s plans. And for some reason Chelsea never pulled the trigger on Simons.

All in all, a better window than most of us probably expected early summer. 4 boys that definitely improve the first team.

There are still glaring holes in the squad though, and I get we were probably never gonna be able to fix everything in one go. But Levy and co. can’t rest on their laurels. We need another 2/3 windows like this to even start competing properly again.

See what we need in January, and get 1 or 2. But next summer we’ll need a top striker (Praying for Kane’s return), quality ball-playing centre mid, a top left winger, and possibly a goalkeeper and centre half depending on how Vicario does this year and if Vuskovic is ready.

And that’s just looking at things as they stand right now, there’s lots of variables that could happen between now and then that change things.

We also need to get a lot better at selling players and knowing when to cut our losses. Our squad situation, particularly with regards to the CL is an absolute mess, it’s years of poor squad management coming home to roost.

For example It’s mental that Bryan Gil as it stands, is still on our books after all this time. He should’ve been punted about 3 years ago. We need to be more ruthless at getting rid of shite like him, Solomon, Veliz etc. The same applies moving forward, if the likes of Tel, Dragusin, Odobert don’t show they’re up to it, just fucking do what you can to bin them, even if we have to take a hit on them, there’s no use in them being here and taking up a space that someone of use could be taking.
You're not the only one but can people still stop longing for Kane's return.

He could barely press by the time he left us. He isn't gonna suddenly find that youthful energy again after an additional three years away.

His time has gone. We need to move forward not backwards.

Man City seem to have 'made it clear' that 2 defenders were available to be sold - Akanji and Ake but only sold one.

Suggest you ask Liverpool why they failed to sign Guehi today - its been an open secret he was 'definitely' going there for a good month.

The fact is the selling club can decide at the last moment not to sell, and there is nothing the buying club can do.
And/or the player. Transfers are a lot harder than forum posters think.

If you believe what was written about it, it was us who didn't want any option and PSG wanting to force it.

Not really disappointing if that's true.
If it's just an option then anyone could sign him anyway.
But if he likes it here and life in London, we'll be be able to negotiate a fee with PSG.

There's zero advantage to not having an option to buy........

If he plays well then either a) PSG will want to keep him or b) charge more money than he'd have been worth this summer.

I'm surprised it was Muani and not Lookman, but at least Spurs added quality depth. I think there will be a deal of consequence, or at least the possibility of one, in the winter window.

It's not luck it's opportunist, it's what we do sometimes it works most often it blows up in our face. We have had a bit of both in this window
