Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's zero advantage to not having an option to buy........

If he plays well then either a) PSG will want to keep him or b) charge more money than he'd have been worth this summer.

Sure there is - we get him for 9 months. Seems like thats all that was possible. Should we have been adamant about an option and missed out entirely?
Yep. An option to buy doesn't mean anything if the player and/or club don't want him to stay. If he works out and wants to stay we're in a strong position. If he doesn't want to stay or we don't want him to, it's no loss.

Should be a great addition to the squad this season.

Not sure you realise how impressive a year-on-year Net spend of £120M is.

Our main problem is we do not recuperate enough from sales, and are terrible at cashing in on players. For example, Brennan Johnson's stock will never be higher, and we should have looked to get £50-60M for him this summer

I was with you until that bit......

I'm not a Brenan hater; but who the fuck from???????

to fund an earlier-in-the-window move for Savinho.

We didn't not get Sav cos we 'left it late'.........

I think our recruitment this window has been due diligence and more data driven. We haven't just got quantity in. Quality arrived. Intrigued though why Paratici and colleague start on 01st October. Unless someone will be on notice. I think Lange has done ok.

It’s definitely too soon to accurately rate the window. But you can certainly rate our methods and process. And for me it’s a 0/10

Every single deal we did this summer basically fell into our lap. We are extremely fortunate West Ham needed money. Palhinha didn’t fit Kompany’s plans. And for some reason Chelsea never pulled the trigger on Simons.

So Eze fell into the scum's lap cos he just happens to be a scum fan............. ?

Madueke just fell into their lap cos Chavs are nut jobs that have a tone of surplus players every summer......?

NF only still have MGW cos they're a drug smuggling gangster owner just "fell into their lap"...........?

You see how this 'works'.

Again, we’ll never sell well with this chairman, because most of the industry can’t be bothered with his schtick.

120m may well be impressive, but it’s all generated by us the fans. The miserable owners won’t invest and as we saw this summer the gap between us and the major players gets bigger.

Match day income is the smallest of 3 regular income streams - tv income and commercial income being the other 2 regular income streams with uefa prize money being an irregular 4th. Match day income is the majority of income from fans
