Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It would be nice to know our transfer budget for this window so that all of us armchair experts can pick out players that suit our priorities and our budget.

After we sell players will we have £150m to spend or £200m. Some on here think we will buy five or six 60m or 70m+ players, I think that's highly unlikely.

If we have £150m I would get Wharton, Eze and probably Grealish on a free if we could get his wages down to 200k a week. They all improve our team and are all HG. Vuskovic covers CB and could bring back Donley for cover as well. Loan Mikey out.

If more money available could grab another top liner.

Home grown is not important. It’s club trained where we struggle. For the CL squad we already have 2 too many association trained. For the PL squad we’re fine on all fronts.

Nah , we can sit back and wait for Ange , then Frank and whoever comes next to tell us about them . Or we could refresh Jose , Conte , Santini , Modric and others if we get bored . No need to pay for second hand people dissing Levy when we have a readily available supply of first hand people more than happy to do it for free.

Why did you bite to this? 🙂

Because Frank prefer to play with inverted WFs, I really would like Spurs to get a left-footed WF. Below is a list (I may have missed 1 or 2) of the best available left-footed WFs Spurs can afford. All are very talented in their own ways but I have doubts whether any of them have that "top-4" quality Spurs need...

Maghnes Akliouche
Johan Bakayoko
Takefusa Kubo
Kang In-Lee
Roger Fernandes
Dorgles Nene
Noni Madueke
James McAtee
Tyler Dibling

I cannot answer that, i don’t know why I nibbled but I did . Best answer I could give was been at BBQ tonight for a few hours and had a few beers . Unfortunately I think all my other posts were quite on the money as I only had 2 pints ( 4 bottles to be precise) , so the reality is I have no idea .

The content of my post was cogent but yours was not a post that needed my response I agree

Fantasy stuff

Everyone else is making signings and improving their squads for next season. Meanwhile Tottenham:

- Missed one transfer window where we could have signed players to improve our squad instead pissing about appointing a new manager.
- Re signed a 33 year old who is past his best on a 1 year contract extension.
- Re signed a 20 year old who never solved our problem last season in the front line and sign him again because he has potential.
- Announcing 4 residential towers will be built.

IMO it makes more sense to name a squad 3 players short than to sign KWP for one season in the CL squad when he’s never playing a minute of CL football for us
We still have the b list which could include donley, Devine, Scarlett, etc. what about lankshear. Depending on our opponents if we make a pigs ear of it in first 4 games out of 8 then the b list players could be used. Rather give the minutes than bringing KWp.

A bit extreme ! I think that both Devine and Donley would do fine as rotation options as would Moore and say Scarlett. So we needn't be short of players at all,

Although we play CL this year when I looked through the teams likely to be in League phase a third or more were in EL last year, so for maybe half a dozen matches I'm not sure it will be different to last year when a number of youngsters played.
100%

I actually disagree with that, if only because the injury risk to Porro/Udogie would have a much higher negative impact than playing KWP for a few matches here and there.

Let’s say not having backup gives them a 40% chance of injury, that’s a much bigger negative downside than the drop off in level from them to KWP.

Obviously it’s a shit situation and not one any team would want to be in but running Pedro and Destiny into the ground is arguably worse.
We have Spence and buy another bloody proven defender.

Hoe often does anyone have to explain basic finance to you - property development can easily he financed by bank debt with no impact on club transfer dealings

'One brick' lies yet again. After years of 'One brick' saying no new stadium will be built when Levy is in charge

I guess despite a name change John/Joan Thomas cannot give up on lying - it’s her/his life.
NO bruv - Banks will NOT loan 100% of construction/development costs for real estate projects. Banks want a Loan to Construction Cost (LTC) ratio of between 50 to 80% and the higher the LTC, the higher the interest rate you have to pay - so more expense for the club.

Banks are not stupid - Real development projects come with risk and banks want owners to have skin in the game and not take the first loss if the project goes badly - so owners have to contribute their own money (equity) equal to 20% to 50% of construction costs - which in this case is the club (SO MONEY OTHERWISE AVAILABLE FOR TRANSFER FEES AND WAGES)

Maybe Levy will find outside investors for some of the equity but then he’ll have to give those other investor’s their pro-rata share of the profits (and Daniel likely won’t want to do that …)

In addition, you can’t get bank loans for the millions (likely tens of millions for a project this big) in pre development costs (costs of lawyers, architects, technical consultants, lobbyists etc to prepare planning permissions, building designs, technical studies etc) - because there’s no collateral for the banks to secure.

Basic real estate development finance init.

The key word for Liverpool is "Had" as Trent and Kelleher are gone and they look like they are open to offers for Elliot. They're basically in the same position we are but working on
signings for their first 11 first before delving into that issue.

If we keep signing more young players do you know what happens? the current young players that are about to be club trained will be shipped out on loan and we will be waiting years again for the ones we've just signed to be CT. The never ending cycle continues.

Or we could sign around 3 players that go directly into the first 11, sell some experienced players that are not up to it and keep the currently club trained players like Devine and maybe even Donley about and trust them to be squad players and see how that goes. We are never going to know how good Devine, Donley, Phillips, Dorrington etc are if we just keep loaning and loaning talent and inevitably selling.
Top post! Why not give our youngsters a chance. I’ve seen enough of some of them to show they are just as good as players we have purchased or are interested in. I’d bring back abbot as well for FB cover. I’m sure these guys would love to play for their own club. They have far more passion. Look what happened in the last Europa league group game. 3 home HG players scoring surely every spurs must have real pride and happiness.
