I Love The Tottenham Transfer Thread. Every yet it's the same. So much Hype over the 100s of players we are "Monitoring" or The "World Class" Players we are linked to. It's all Suspense, then we en up with future punts like, Gray, Bergvall, Johnson, Tel, Odobert....etc. And just to throw us off track, we pay 55-65 million for Solanke (I bet there was a 10 year payment plan with that one.

We keep hearing, Mourinho and Conté wanted to buy a team, yet they had quite good results with the team they had. Three or four proper signings would have probably put them in league winning contention. The same happened to Poch

Then we had, "The Legend" Ange supposed buy players that were fit for "Ange Ball". Only thing is........I don't buy that Bull. He got the same Levy treatment as the rest.

Now we have the "New Hype", Thomas Frank come in. Why did Levy get him? Because he made Brentford a sales profit of over 70% on their stars. Levy is seeing Pounds. He doesn't give a Crap about winning the league as he and his Puppet Simon Jordan keep hailing.

We wait until the pot is almost empty and the we scoop what's left, it's the Levy Way.

Kyle Walker only joined us from Sheff Utd when he was 19, and thus would not qualify as club trained. We already have 2 too many association trained players for the CL squad.

Notable players who would count as club trained are KWP (free), Winks, Cirkin, Tanganga.

KWP on a free makes sense (as 4th choice FB) unless we think we have a better FB who qualifies on the B-List (like Abbott).

Our CL squad is no better off for signing a player most would agree isn't good enough for CL. Waste of time.

Should never have done more than loan Cirkin out to begin with.

Far too much fuss over this though..... The bigger factor is who will we have to leave out regardless....?

Good insight - But I assume the hotel will be a one-off for ENIC so no “economies of scale” on the design (nor bulk discounts for fixtures/furnishings)? At least I hope it’s a one-off and there’s no plan to leverage the club to build more than one.

Already paid for and included as a who knows how much part of £163M of operating expenses from the 2024 accounts (and expenses from years past) - or do design costs have to be capitalized and depreciated? In which it’s an unidentifiable part of the Acquisition of property etc line I guess.

Club trained - but yes if if that opens up an additional CL spot for another player I’d take KWP all day, we’d find him minutes across the season and it would allow a bigger CL squad with the addition of not just him but another established player/new signing. No brainer to me

Don't think anyone can watch that and honestly say his goals were all meant for this season. I think he'll give Frank what he asks for, seemed to back Ange in his first few windows. Not expecting a total overhaul of the squad until Frank actually has a chance to work with them.

If not this season then when?

We are in the CL this season, if we don’t build a squad capable of challenging to win this season, what guarantee is there we even qualify next season or any other season?
 
All of us here should start an TFC ITK subscription service based on what we’re hearing right here from our sources on this Board. 🤣. Sources = Ourselves.

We could make alot of money - course we’d to split it and there are a lot of us. 🤣

Ange did a pretty big overhaul, one way and another we must have changed about 15 players in the first team squad since Conte left. If Bissouma leaves then Frank can maybe bring in 2 players this window.
Next Summer Frank probably gets to change 2 more when Ben Davies leaves, maybe Son gets to leave on a free for services rendered and Richi might move on as well.

We can't build a squad to realistically challenge for the Premier League and Champions league in one window. I think we can build a squad that is capable of getting top 5 this season and work from there.

Any world class player is going to want to go to the current top 5 in the league way more so than go to us. I don't think it's a question of just chuck the money in as far as we're concerned, it's a question of the player coming in waiting to see if City/Woolwich/Chelsea/Liverpool/Newcastle make an approach.

I think however you rate Ange's tenure it's hard to overlook how much better/younger/more balanced our squad is now compared to when he first came in. Still gaps there but they seem easy fixes.

I'm hearing there's been initial thoughts about opening talks with an intermediary linked to Kyle Naughton. Naughton was previously spotted visiting the training ground between 2009-2015. :sarrthink:
 
Let's be honest, Levy and co are pretty fooked and on another hiding to nothing.

Even when we spend a larger amount it's done so poorly. Too much youth, not enough or even any top calibre players.

They don't have a clue. Frank is a good manager, lange is a good talent scout but with the resources this club has we should be assembling a team that can win titles every year.
Instead it's a never ending rebuilding, more longshots and trying to get rid of old failed longshots.

Go buy some top quality ffs and stop being so tinpot.

Pal, our beloved chairman didn't fully back Redknapp after he got us into the CL and we were doing well in the league...remember friggin Nelsen & Saha?

Sold Bale for a record fee, only to waste the money on Soldado, Paulinho, Chiriches...

Poch turned us into an elite squad able to win big things, just needed that extra touch of help...he got no new players for 18 months. And when he did get players, most were shite.

Jose wanted Skriniar...got Rodon. Conte wanted Bastoni, got Spence. Replaced Kane with Richarlison & Solanke. Signing Tel over someone of Nico Williams' ilk.

But yeah 2025 is when he's finally gonna deliver cause he wants the PL & CL.
 
There's a few articles about that the club are interested in signing Adem Zorgane, apparently his primary position is defensive midfield, he's Algerian, plays in Belgium, and our club's representatives were impressed by him when they went to see our lads at Westerlo and he was in the opposing team. The transfer fee being mentioned is £8.5m.
