Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No one is paying 100m for Dibling 😂

With what we paid for Romero we should not be considering anything below 80m, coming into his prime and will perform again under a proper coach and I for one do not trust Levy or our scouts to replace him with anyone better, because Danso and Dragusin are not the answer and nowhere near his standard.

We also need experience in the squad, so should be trying to keep likes of Romero and not get dragged into the Levy economics of selling our best players, you win by keeping the better players and building in them, not by cashing in on them.

Should be adding Brandwaithe or similar, a quality number 6 and a dribbly winger, as a minimum this summer.

Shift Richy and replace him with someone like Cunha/Delap/Schick.

After that I would be making Biss available for transfer immediately and Bents if the right money came in and a replacement was identified, Baena at Villarreal possibly?

There are others for consideration, though not necessarily for sale:

Johnson is someone stumps up the right cash, as he is much better suited to counter attacking team, could see a return to Forest if they get CL.

Son if the money came in, though prefer to see him stay and see what he is like under a proper coach again.

Scarlett I would sell, Davies near the end of his days in top league football, so probably sell/let go as well. Sell Solomon also.

Exemplified by the fact that people now see a player who's right footed and automatically say that he can't play on the right then...

End of the day, it don't matter what position you play, what foot you use, whether you're a tank or a midget...just play with gusto, show some bollocks, dare swim against the tide.

The current version of the (supposedly) mighty PL is dying for some Ginola, Jayjay Okocha, Gazza, Berbatov, Cantona, Bergkamp (I know), Modric, Juninho, Tevez, Zola, Bale, CR7 when he weren't a No 9, Klinsmann...to name a few.

Notice how many Spurs in that lot? But it ain't about talking the talk as the XXL tub of lard in our dugout thinks he's so good at, it's about doing it on the pitch and not just when it comes to closing property & entertainment deals (looking at you, you bald evil dwarf).

We needed to move on Son to clear the way in the seniority ranks for a proper rebuild, but it was too soon to part with him. Agreed that it was awkward timing. Well now we are rock bottom more or less so should feel comfortable finally parting with him and starting something new.

Symptom of the strategy, we're picking up a load of inexperienced kids and leaving players who should be nowhere near the captaincy lead the team.

Really? He's bang average in my opinion. Should be nowhere near the NT.

Just the typical CM coming out of French academies these days...big, strong, can run for days but severe lack of footy IQ or tekkers. Proper water carrier, like Deschamps was.

Hard no from me. That's a West Ham player...at best.

He’s not Einstein but he’s technically decent and can move with the ball, has some pressure resistance.

7 prem league goals and 9 assists so far this yr , won't be easy to replace that and all that under a buffoon of a manager, still think there might be another season under a decent coach, even if it means less playing time.

Yes, he can carry the ball and pass it around, but he barely scores or assists, his defensive metrics are dogshite, and he has that lazy nonchalant look to him. All that for 100k a week, knowing he'd want even more at Spurs. Not that long ago we had a very pricey young French CM with similar traits...we know how that went down.

If I'm getting rid of Bissouma (seen as Bentancur is inexplicably getting a juicy new deal), I really don't see the point in getting a guy like Kone in...very much swapping L4L. Same could be said of Sarr.

Bergvall will be 10 times the player, as will Archie. Buy a proper elite a CM to put round them, but yeah that's what a serious club & chairman would do.

There are very few unicorns out there, and we aren't going to pay for them anyway. Someone like Baleba is going to cost 80-100m. Bergval isn't a 6 and never will be IMO, he's an 8. He's game, but not great at defensive things, much better progressing the ball and attacking. Who knows what Gray will be, I definitely can't say he looks like a future Rodri in the making.

So, for me, it will be choosing from the lower cost/less proven/higher risk group. Stiller, Camara, Bouaddi, Larsson, Koné etc.

We have already extended for next season, one assumes that is not with a view to selling him as would make more sense to negotiate a 2 year deal at that point, think the club is fairly accepting of the idea that his form next season will dictate whether he is offered an extension again or not. I personally doubt he will be, he will be 34 when his contract expires and is on high wages, he hasn't played anywhere near well enough this season to warrant that kind of outlay, and he will play for the South Korea team as long as he is getting regular football at a decent standard, he probably feels he can keep going to nearer 40 for the national team. I think he will leave on a free at the end of his deal, I sincerely hope we take the captaincy off him and reduce his match load next season as well as I don't think he's good enough to be a starting XI player for where our aspirations are any more and the captaincy only ensures it's a difficult decision for the manager to drop him for any length of time. If your captain is fit, he plays.

Unfortunately, Son is now merely taking valuable minutes off the team of tomorrow we are trying to build. Moore will be 18 next season, perfect time for him to start being a rotational player in the league if he really is an elite talent, but with Son and Odobert ahead of him in the pecking order what minutes do we realistically give him barring an injury crisis?

Oh I agree with you, brother. We should really be shopping VIP-style at Waitrose or Booths, zero friggin doubt about that...it's our beloved chairman, our dear leader who consciously chooses to buy of the grotty discounted aisle at Tesco.

That shiny stadium really been a game-changer.

But yeah Jose/Conte/Chiellini & co were wrong.
