If Romero is leaving he would play, not so sure if he would get game time in the other clubs he is linked with. A nice Dutch link with Van der Ven as well ... makes more sense to me than Dibling, who is ridiculously over-priced and probably not better than players in his age group that we already have at the club.
You would hope one of the 106 DOF's we have employed would tell Levy signing prospect number 737373737377472 for big money maybe isn't the best approach going into next season.

That was Saints making a total and complete arse of themselves. Your supposed to add 20% on the actual price to stop yourself getting haggled down to a lowball. So any other club would have said £60m and ended up with £40m at the sale. By Saints saying £100m they will probably now get £20-30m instead as every buyer will see them as idiots and negotiate down even harder.
Even Levy would not have put £100m on the price, would have been £70m or something of that kind. They are getting relegated so their leverage is weak unless Chelsea really want to throw £70m Saints don’t have much options.
He'd probably start at Liverpool next to Van Dijk. Bayern's defence is in serious need of a reliable CB...ditto Real & Barca (and he's Spanish).
All them clubs, incl Newcastle & Villa, would pay him superior wages.
In my opinion it's between Liverpool, Real and Barca. Chelsea a step behind. Bayern, Villa & Newcastle are outsiders. Then it's Spurs.
Priority for me is top striker and keeper. Vicario and solanke not good enough.

Danso is already the Romero replacement.It'll probably be Vuskovic in and Romero out.
Assuming VDV doesn't ask to leave, next season will be Danso, Dragusin, VDV, Vuskovic as our CB options. IF we get Champions League, we will probably give Davies a 1 year deal.
If Levy's recent statement about the club's finances is anything to go by then after selling Romero, Richarlison , and saving on Werner's wage, that'll be our transfer budget.
A portion of that will go on Tel, then maybe another forward player or DMF. and of course Vuskovic will likely be on a relatively small salary,
