Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think I like the Sane deal on paper.. I know there's concerns, but we cant keep running away from these kinds of risks and signing 18/19 year olds. We've got to "dare" at some point.

He's played 30 plus league games for the last few years, so the injuries aren't mounting up.. If we can get a couple years out of him near his best level, then we are undoubtedly more dangerous because of it.

When he was at Man City, I thought this is Bale reborn.. It'd only make sense for him to end up in our shirt.

He moved from Man City 4 years ago at his peak to Bayern.

He's a free transfer now as Bayern didn't want to renew his contract, possibly with his wages being high and/or him wanting a longer contract that would take him beyond Son's age.

So he could be ok for a short contract only.

We should be sniffing City. Macatee might be off and he is a proper ready player now, another Palmer/Delap/Gittens. If City buy Cherki also Oscar Bobb should be a player we go for. Both of these are technically excellent and we need to up the technical level of the squad.

Regulion is off, Daveis probably behind him. We need a back up left back, I would imagine a free club trained Walker Peters will be on the list. Wouldn’t be surprised if our next 3 signings are

Sane
gomes
Walker-Peter’s

Walker-Peters is definitely a favorite to get picked up. Especially now that Whiteman is off. We are down below the four required club trained senior players needed to field a full UEFA squad.

Sané would easily be our best winger by a country mile. Perfect, no, but a top player.

Son is finished. Johnson a tap-in merchant who couldn’t complete a take-on in Sunday League. Odobert, Moore, Tel (?) are all nowhere near ready yet.

Get him in, get another winger/creative player in, get a proper forward to rotate with Dom, get an attacking midfielder and a holding midfielder, get a utility FB/CB. MINIMUM Six players needed if we want to finish in the European places.

Johnson is a good player in terms of goals and assists. He isn’t a good winger though, doesn’t dribble well nor press that well. Seems more like a player suited to a Dele Alli style role than as an out and out winger in an Ange system. I mean he got the winning goal and all but the way Ange wants to play Johnson, Son and Tel are quite odd fits.
He’s about a billion miles away from what Dele could do. Brennan can’t score different types of goals and if you play centrally you need to be able to do that. Not even a comparison.

Johnson is brilliant at finding space and a very good finisher and assister. He has an instinct in the box that reminds me of Dele. I appreciate you don’t agree but I don’t see his long term as a wide player, he isn’t good at dribbling, pressing or ball retention.
