Dude, that’s the equivalent of about 350-400k today.
Yeah he had a tuf first period with the chavs injuries HUGE unrealistic expectations for a young player coming into the prem .. but to me he always looked decent and I was always sure goals would follow...I wasn't convinced Ari was a kompany type of no 9.. and wasn't surprised when Jackson was brought in , I thought to replace/challenge him.. Ari hasn't let that happen, hence Jackson on the market again.. I would think his wages and contract would be an issue for us though .Interesting how Jackson’s stock has risen because he is now seen as less shit than his current contemporaries

City (and Chelsea?) owners put in more than £1 billion of their own money in the first decade of ownership.
Even if it were allowable, how many EPL owners do you think have that kind of liquidity?
They do but if our club bids the same as City for a player, them having a better manager is going to influence things. I imagine a lot of top players around the world hadn't even heard of Thomas Frank when he was manager of Brentford or coaching in Denmark.
That doesn’t quite buy you a Solanke.
Yeah you are right. I'm talking about getting the best players we can and to attract them buy paying over the odds (not 300/400k).
To become a better team we will have to do it in stages imo. First we have to buy players to get us to the next level before we can get better players to get us to the next level
True but there are clubs doing better than our club in the Premier League but pay less on players, I assume without checking that Villa can't be paying much more if any more at all.
Well I just now looked on a website called Spotrac, according to their data Villa pay 7th highest wages and Spurs 6th highest.
ATM Trafford is a decent championship keeper.. Burnley dropped him as did city.. at both clubs he hadn't quite developed into a liability.. but with both clubs his spells as no 1 in the prem he was 100% heading that way
Dude, the least you can do is fact check your posts:Solanke is not on 130k nowhere near it
And I also said paying more than a £130k a week player is worth

It just goes to show it's not all always about the money.
He's one of - if not- the most promising RBs in Europe right now. But he's still got some defensive weaknesses. What is this lads position? Very impressed and I never am from these comps.
Villa spend nearly all their revenue on players, whereas we only spend half of ours. Means we have similar quality of player (as our revenue is significantly higher). Main difference is they have a better manager, and he is in year 3 of his project. If we were more ambitious on the pitch Villa could not compete with us.Well I just now looked on a website called Spotrac, according to their data Villa pay 7th highest wages and Spurs 6th highest.

Since we are not getting 12-14 new players we might as well give up.You’ve named five good players. Only two of which are good - Berg has potential, Kudus is shit and Udogie is a crock and can’t defend our box. We need 12/14 good players tbh
