Doesn't matter where we finish, what matters is how we finish. Frank could go on a run where we are winning and more consistent but if it's gonna be this low xg crap, dull uninspiring relying on set piece to get goals and lucky wins then it doesn't matter where we finish, that shit is no way sustainable or enjoyable.

For the guy to keep his job from now we need to see a complete 360 in playing style, domination, creating lots of chances, players improving and him profiling the right players and making subs to change games back in our favour and the players have to be enjoying their football, there's 0 chance of that though despite who we get in this month.
Yeah Arteta's Woolwich were dog-wank in his first full season until about January - maybe even lower in the table than we are at this stage of the season - but they went on a couple of winning streaks and finished the season with 5 on the bounce.

That's the only reason Arteta kept his job, despite them finishing 8th, and Frank would need a similarly stark turnaround in form (and in his case style) to survive.

Happy now? makes you seem a bit childish.
sad baby GIF

But still a failed season. No trophy and 8th should get a Tottenham coach fired if they have no previous for succcess at the club. And by that I mean Poch could get away with 8th. I reckon even Conte would have been sacked at the end of the season if he'd stayed and finished 8th
We don't have a healthy squad, or as talented a squad as needed, but you seem to be saying Spurs should win anyway just because they're Tottenham. You don't build things without a foundation and you don't build anything that lasts on a zero turnaround timetable. As fans, we assume we're supposed to finish near the top of the table regardless of squad depth and injuries. Maybe the stadium is top of the table, but the squad is in rough shape. You can change managers but that doesn't change the situation.

SO fucking predictable. Desperation stations again

And it's another kid. If we sign him, I've had it with these fucking clowns. Will clearly be a Lange signing

Bobb is 22, hardly a kid, and a clearly talented player, it doesn't move the needle in quite the way I think we all hope we will in this window but I wouldn't deride the club for finally targeting technically proficient players, he's a very similar profile to Palmer IMO, clearly very talented but pathway blocked to the first team at City, could easily begin performing well above his current indicators with regular gametime. If we can get him for £40m there or thereabouts its a no brainer IMO, he's a confident dribbler who's good in tight spaces and will massively help the ball stick in the final third, which is an equally big issue we have to actually getting the ball into the final third with a progressive passer in MF.

If we sign Bobb, we need to give him the #2 shirt. Would be a massively missed opportunity otherwise.

Meh. I quite like Gallagher.

Would be an upgrade on Bentancur, Gray, Bissouma and Palhinha - and would add energy we’re desperately missing.

Considering where we are as a club - decent player to get in.

Doesn’t take away the need of a ball player alongside him though.

I think there’s nothing really wrong with him, it’s just more that he’d block progression for Bergval, and that the club would see this as addressing the midfield issues and not get a ball playing player.

We’re very good at stockpiling the same type of midfielders.

Yeah would only make sense if we intend a full-on revamp of our midfield in the summer. Spending like 40m on Gallagher when we've already got 4 players whose best position is 8 and also can't pass plus and Xavi and Maddison as 10s just seems like a terrible use of funds right now.

If the plan is to flog Sarr and Bentancur (which I'm actually in favour of) then maybe it makes sense if you squint, but he'd still directly block our most promising midfielder in Bergvall who is already not getting games in his best position. And from what I've heard there's no intention to sell Sarr either, so how would he get enough minutes too?

Feels like a bit of a desperation signing that would help us in the short term but create more headaches in the long run.

Ali Gold retweeted so I guess he thinks there is some truth to it.

Sarr is better at the things Gallagher does, and we still wouldn't have someone who does the things that Gallagher doesn't do.

If you replace Bentancur with Gallagher, I'm OK with it for depth but we'd still need a starting 11, passing midfielder.

Got to do this now bentancur is out. Not perfect but better than nothing. Can he see himself playing for us though? If villa offer him a starting spot he’s going there IMO. He obviously wants to come back as it’s World Cup year and wants to get in the squad.

Why not get Gallagher for energy and power and Hayden Hackney for the 6 who can help with the passing. Bissouma will be off, Bentancur maybe in the summer if we sign Palhinha permanently or even if not.

We have to be ruthless with our midfield. Gallagher has flaws but he is arguably better especially for big games than our other CM’s. We are not in a great position to attract players right now so we have to grab the best of what is available to us.

Ange wanted him too. Poch made him captain and Simeone signed him. Got to go with the opinion he’s a good player. However I agree with everyone picking up on his lack of technical ability etc. in an ideal world I wouldn’t go near him. He’s a leader though. In a squad of fannies I’ll take one of those.

He is a great presser, can match physically with anyone, has an eye for a goal when allowed to play forward and covers well. He is limited with his passing range in deep positions though. Basically Jordan Henderson 2.0.

What I don’t get is that surely we could pick up some kind of cultured ball playing midfielder from somewhere in Europe for a lot cheaper than some of these cart horses will cost. Honestly, there must be loads of players out there who could do a job in the league.

Yeah I've said he's a good player just the type I'm getting at
