Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Redknapp wanted Tevez, Tevez wanted to come, an even in Redknapp's article which you have linked it says "Daniel made some enquiries" What's he making enquiries about CJJ? The loan rules... no, a fee was well within reach. But, the stumbling point was wages. Levy didn't want to pay 200k a week. If he had, we would have finished minimum 3rd. Redknapp's throw away quote about having him on loan and City subsiding his wages is just that... a throw away quote. I will trust what I know about that period and not what a Frank / ENIC sympathiser concludes from a few Sky Sports links in 2012. Or to translate into a style you might understand:

Comedy Central Lol GIF by The Jim Jefferies Show

I noticed you very no-so-subtly removed the quote of:

"If Manchester City want to let me have him on loan and massively subsidise it, I'll take him tomorrow.

Which we couldn't do, because they were already doing that for Adebayor.

And you're also conveniently missing out the fact that £200k was not only a massive wage in 2012, but that it would also come with a transfer free. Because smart people blow the lid off the club finances to sign players who have refused to play for their parent club.
But of course, all you're doing is proving that some idiots still believe it was possible, 14 years later :harrylol:

Not a bad shout RE Moore but for his development shouldn't we keep him on loan? I'm not sure he is a certainty to start ahead of Tel/RKM on that side
I mean, if there's minutes to be had for him here then isn't that just as, if not more, beneficial to him?

Or are we simply accepting now that every player is better off being trained elsewhere as for some reason we are cursed to never have anyone improve under our own roof???

I have been, in the past, more of an apologist when it comes to transfer windows, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, etc (which remains true), but those days have long passed, with this window being yet another example of rank incompetence masquerading as elite level professionals.

To have more players leave during the window than arrive is mind bending, without taking into account the physio room additions that have occurred during January.

There's not a club in our position, both in terms of league position, nor financial clout, and yet we're so pedestrian.

We won't be relegated, and I don't say that with arrogance, I say it with a huge sense of relief because I really do believe that we'll do just about enough to stay up, but our appeal to incoming players, and coaches diminishes ever more.

Always assume the worst case scenario with this club after the last few years.

How hilarious would it be if we are letting Monaco use our medical team to sign players only for Woolwich or Chelsea to hijack us on akliouche. It was like when Paratici was helping Palace find replacements for Eze! Funny how spurs were happy to report on that to show they were trying to speed up the Eze deal but then pretended it never happened once Woolwich hijacked us! Ali Gold we know the truth

M.Moore - I think it's more of a case of:

31 apps / 19 starts / 1547 mins so far

vs

scraps and cameos here for a few months.

We won't sign anyone.

Our inept board will see we're 4 games unbeaten finished 4th in the UCL table and drew with Man City and somehow think we're in a great position and need no strengthening.

I reckon Vinai , Lange and Frank are having a nice long lunch together

And why not?

They have more than earned it , time to bathe in the success that this last month has been on all fronts

It's really important to celebrate the victories
Lange is actually on annual leave today. He booked it in months ago. Vinai is working from home today because he has a cough. Frank always brings in his own lunch anyway. A plain ham and cheese sandwich with an apple and a bottle of water. The same lunch he had every day at Brentford.
