This what I've been complaining about. There's genuinely no rhythm to our play. No little quick one twos or little patterns, that most PL players can do, and players here have done. So one dimensional. It's really crap.Agree- we don’t even play basic give and gos down the flanks. Our attacking play appears as if hardly any work has been done on it.
We should've lost that 4-0 too of it wasn't for a wonder game from Vic. This myth that we're hard to beat is hilarious. That’s leaning more towards guesswork than proof my man.
Ange’s first few months in charge, with a weaker squad, coming to terms with Kane leaving, were better than this. And we saw how that turned out in the end.
Not really sure we have a suitable metric that shows Frank is miles ahead of anyone at the moment.
We gave the last manager time and it was a disaster. The same is happening now. Two shite appointments and you can't just stick by someone, because. This is modern football, it's not the 90's. Managers come and go.Some shite performances but feel like the only choice is to pray it's all just teething problems and hope for the best.
We simply can't keep switching managers and need to give him time and support even if he ain't the one. I'd rather be glass-half-full and give Frank the benefit of the doubt than start shitting on another manager at the very start of his reign.
Average players + average manager = meh results. For the People getting on his back , he has worse attacking players here than he did at Brentford
Some of these bums are genuinely hopeless
It was absolutely an anomaly but one that was rapidly becoming the norm. Can we stop using last season as a barometer? That was an anomaly. Also, of you want to go down that road, injuries last season were miles worse than this. Is he a better manager than Ange, obviously. Feels like the wrong fit. Playing like Stoke every game is terrible. When we don't get a win on one of our next few games and we're lingering bottom half, the ambition here is well, it's better than 17th. Insane. Also spent £200m+ in the summer, said he sanctioned the Tel move. He's not the guy to lead us anywhere.
Night and day sure, we've gone from gung ho ball to terror ball. Somewhere in the middle would be fucking nice.
One second they complain the squad is garbage, to much mediocrity and players that need to be sold, the attack has zero bite to it... Then next minute, they berate a manager who can't perform miracles with a shit show of squad. The only thing that's embarrassing is this fucking fanbase.
I cannot believe how much it's regressed.
Truly awful.
Listen, of there was some decent football, like a light at the end of the tunnel id be happy. But this is completely unacceptable. Man for man, minus Akliouche, we had better player than Monaco, but they utterly dominated us. That was their managers first game, but he has them ticking. It was absolutely an anomaly but one that was rapidly becoming the norm.
It'll take a while to steady that ship. 8 league games isn't a while.
In much the same way as those first 10 games of Ange were not indicative of what was to come after.
They haven't lost a game in their stadium since February 12th.One second they complain the squad is garbage, to much mediocrity and players that need to be sold, the attack has zero bite to it... Then next minute, they berate a manager who can't perform miracles with a shit show of squad.
It as much hilarious as it is embarrassing.
If you have a manager the is eking out results with a shit show, he is probably doing a good job.
Yeah, we got a draw from Monaco and the performance was not the greatest by any stretch of the imagination, but Monaco is no pony, we had a rough opponent, but we still got a point out of it and remain unbeaten.
Absolute zero nuanced understanding or context of the position that Spurs is in.Listen, of there was some decent football, like a light at the end of the tunnel id be happy. But this is completely unacceptable. Man for man, minus Akliouche, we had better player than Monaco, but they utterly dominated us. That was their managers first game, but he has them ticking.
Our players that were there before have all been in sides that could play quick, snappy football. This style, for want of a better word, is laborious, stodgy, predictable and so easy to play against. We're getting carved up nearly every game, so the "hard to beat" nonsense isn't really a factor.
This is getting worse by the game. That was the one win in the next month or so I seen us getting, but another load of crap was served up. Of we don't get a win in our next 5 games or so, which I really can't see, is it time for alarm bells? We're actually no better off against teams we faced last season, which is shocking.
Oh Jesus Christ. Thought you'd hidden me? What happened?Absolute zero nuanced understanding or context of the position that Spurs is in.
You are expecting miracles... Me, I don;t care about this season, the squad is f**ked, been whole sale changes from top to bottom, outside of the squad, we have very little going forward, and trying to compete in the PL and CL, with half a squad and depth, and very little to rotate with.
You are completely devoid of any kind of sense of reality of what position we are in.
We almost got relegated last season, wake the F up.
Your not wrong at all. They haven't lost a game in their stadium since February 12th.
We drew against them just like City did, and city have a final third that makes ours look like sludge.
It's completely diabolical.
I actually cannot stand a large chunk of this fanbase.
Fucking idiots.
We gave the last manager time and it was a disaster. The same is happening now. Two shite appointments and you can't just stick by someone, because. This is modern football, it's not the 90's. Managers come and go.
No no it is not, what it is, is the after math of 20+ years of Levy.Oh Jesus Christ. Thought you'd hidden me? What happened?
I'm not expecting miracles, as I've said a million times and said in the post you replied to. I'm not even asking for much, but holy fuck, this is absolutely terrible.
Anyone defending this crap needs wakening the fuck up. This is atrocious. If it stays this way, there's not a mission he makes it to January.
He should have addedThomas Frank explains 'no dickheads' policy (danish)
I translated it into English (well chat gpt did)
Thomas Frank: “I really believe in culture.
And I believe a lot in what I call: hard work, attitude, togetherness, passion.
But above all that, there’s what I call the ‘no dickhead policy.’
You only want good people.
We want people who believe in each other and who give to the team — and that’s crucial.”
Interviewer: “So what’s a dickhead?”
Thomas Frank: “Well, it’s probably easier to explain it the other way around.
I think, generally, there are very few bad people who don’t want what’s best for the team. Otherwise, you’re talking about being a bit of a psychopath, right?” laughs
“Luckily, there aren’t many of those.
So I’d rather say, sometimes there are players whose ego needs a bit of guidance.
It’s always the ego — yours, mine — that gets in the way sometimes.”
Interviewer: “Have you talked about this with the Tottenham squad and the staff? Have you told them, ‘this is how it’s going to be under me’?”
Thomas Frank: “Yes, I have. I’m quite straightforward like that.
On the first day I came in, I said three things.
For me, it’s important that we work incredibly hard.
It’s important to be on time — that’s about discipline.
And yes, respect for each other.
Then we can make mistakes on the pitch, we can even score an own goal if that happens — whatever.
But those three things are vital. They’re non-negotiable.”
So, in summary, Frank has a bloody impossible job on his hands. I see tiny fragments of potential progress. That’s probably all we can realistically hope for right now. He needs time, money and resources we may not even have. But I’ll keep the faith and back the man for now. God knows what the alternative is.…………….this is indeed the scenario we gave Ange two seasons some were gonna give him 3 !!!!!!!Thomas Frank has far more ideas than himThe job that any manager has to rebuild our First Team unit is absolutely huge. It’s not just the playing squad. It’s the culture, vibe, focus, motivation, morale, mentality and simple work ethic of the whole organisation that works around the team. The TC over the years has become a toxic hotel of complacency, privilege and misguided satisfaction. The legacy of Levy is way beyond the lack of technical quality in the squad - and the rebuild is huge. We are building back from being top to bottom losers and coasters. It’s dispiriting but true.
The culmination and extent of our diabolical state is emphasised both by our pitiful 17th place position finish last year and also seeing where the three relegated teams are in the Championship now. 9th, 14th and 18th. Not exactly tearing it up. Just piss poor. Absolute garbage. We are lucky as fuck not to have been relegated.
Being in the CL is almost a pointless joke. We don’t belong there. We don’t deserve to be there. We’ve got 5 points thanks to an own goal and two lucky draws. We’re way off being a decent side. But fans are supposed to keep lapping up the warm diarrhoea that is squirted in our faces by the horror show of ENIC and pay £100 to watch pointless abject failure after pointless abject failure. All because some annoying hipster twit has a guitar and that makes it a premium experience.
Fuck off.
