This has been discussed before, but is worth repeating I think: He looks like Nuno in terms of suffering from having to implement a style of play that doesn't come naturally to him, and also losing whatever strengths he might have in the process to end up with an absolutely nothing football.

We can't defend. For the majority of his tenure have we been conceding at a rate very similar to last 2 seasons'. We are not compact, as there are often vast spaces between Bentancur or Palhinha and the rest of the midfield and attack that teams breeze through. This is not even sitting back, compressing the space between the lines and trying to counter like a proper mid-table team. This is an unrecognizable mess, overseen by a manager who barely knows his best XI nearly half a season in.

Calling a manager out of his depth is usually a generic criticism without much substance, but in this case most of the evidence points to it. We're 2 points off 15th, and still feel like the table flatters us.

In self-preservation mode, will he eventually say screw it and start playing to his strengths at the expense of going against The Spurs Way™ ? Would be a short term fix only, but I can't see any other way that's within his capabilities.

It’s nothing like that. We’re over achieving on results if anything with the football we’re playing.

This is not going to work. Probably wiser to change end of season but don’t think I can watch this for another 30 odd games. If we’re not convinced about the long term plan I’d rather roll the dice with an interim for the rest of the season.

I agree until this, I don't want to just sacrifice a full FA cup campaign 22 odd league games and who knows what in Europe.

Just seems like such a waste.

it still doesn't explain our inability to create any chances or have any sort of patterns of attacking play.
 
The underlying data is that of a bottom 3 / relegation side.

The points total not much better. Whatever one may think of Frank, he's doing a terrible job in the league.

Losing Son, Deki, Solanke, and Maddison and bringing in Xavi, Kudus, and RKM is not an improvement. At best, it's a sidegrade.

players have too much power here. they play for wages we like and know they won't be sold or be challenged by additional signings. if conte can't do it no one can. certainly not frank. poch's woo woo worked on a group of talented young players for a few years but even he was eventually worn down. i think our best bet is with an ex player who they won't want to look soft for but even that probably won't work. we need a new way of doing things here
 
Surely we give bare minimum one full season to a manager. With City's riches, the messiah Guardiola was 3rd first season. Klopp was 8th. Bloody Lego head was 8th two seasons running. Calling for the sack constantly is getting boring

Thing is- Thomas Frank is the guy picking and coaching the individuals.

Unless Udogie is simply injured, anybody with half a brain cell could see that Spence ought to be lined up against Hudson-Odoi, who is always a major threat.

Anybody could see that RKM had a productive spell up top, including the all important stat of us WINNING THE ACTUAL GAME- with Richarlison even scoring from his LW position- and then he switches it up because he thinks it will work better that way. Frank- seriously what the fuck?

Bad decisions are still bad decisions, whether it refusing to properly back Pochettino, or spending money terribly because you keep swinging from one extreme to the next in the style of gaffer you want.

Had a pop at the fans , now blaming the players although not individually. He has lost the dressing room in my view and most of the fans . Can’t see his Xmas being ruined by match preparations now
