Wholeheartedly agree. We should be regular top 4 but we know the main reasons we are not. Poor and low salary purchases which the next manager has to mold into something. I reckon Conte could get this lot top 4 but that was never enough for him. He wanted to win and sadly that view is not shared by our chairman. So lets go back to my original question. With suboptimal squad building, everyone else strengthening, some bad injury luck, extra games and whatever other get out of jail free card you want to use, what would be an acceptable season for you. 16th, 12th, 10th, 6th??? Semi final of domestic cup? Last 16 of champs league?

Do you concede there were mitigating circumstances to that run in or do you think Frank should rest most of the first team squad for PL games due to our participation in the CL?

As we are in the lets answer a question by asking one... how many points do you think Frank gets if he starts Danso and Davies at CB in first 12 games and Gray at LB, RB or Holding.

You keep picking isolated points in time. What about the other 11 games. Deep down you know the answer. Frank does probably as well as Ange if he had to keep picking 8 or 9 reserves in every match. You don't like it so you avoid the question by picking the one game towards the start of that run when he was able to field mostly first teamers. It's ok to admit this. It's not a dig at Frank. I'm just saying you need balance when making a point. This is a great example but we will soon find out what Frank is all about and I would love to be wrong about him. Honestly, I'd be ecstatic if we played goid football, won the games against lower half dross, compete and beat the teams in around us a few times and nick some points of Woolwich and Chavs. But here is what I think will transpire. We finish 10th or 11th and don't beat any of the top teams, we play no more than four domestic cup games, get beat in the CL last 16 qualifier for teams finishing 9th - 24th in the group stage. And in summary... that is not good enough and never will be for a club our size. So back to the original question. What do you think we will do?
